Sportsbook Odds for Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Rivalry
Posted by: Charlie Smith
One of the best rivalries in the NFL is upon us again. This weekend’s Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants is yet another thrilling rendition of one of the league’s best betting opportunities. In fact, it’s hard to argue that there’s a superior rivalry for fans who bet on NFL games to take part in this Sunday. Let’s take a gander at what football betting websites are predicting for this Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants NFC East matchup.
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants – Sunday, December 10th
When: 1:00 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Stream: Fox Sports Go, NFL Game Pass
Sportsbook Betting Lines:
Dallas Cowboys -3½ (-110) 41½ (-115) -210
New York Giants +3½ (-110) 41½ (-105) +176
The Cowboys ride into this Week 14 pairing sporting a 6-6 record that ranks them 2nd in the division behind the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles. Despite having an extremely lackluster record, the Cowboys still have a slight chance of cracking this year’s playoff cut. Of course, they’ll have to do so without Ezekiel Elliott. Seeing as how Elliott is still serving his suspension, it seems highly unlikely that they’ll be able to deliver a strong enough finish to clinch a playoff berth. Notwithstanding the fact that the Cowboys are pegged as heavy sportsbook favorites against the Giants this Sunday, Dallas has a very tough road ahead of them. Especially since they’ll be without their star runningback.
Unquestionably, the Cowboys enter this rivalry with the superior offensive unit. Dallas ranks 10th in the league in scoring, 19th in total offense, 29th in passing and 3rd in rushing. For comparison, the Giants rank 31st in scoring, 28th in total offense, 22nd through the air and 27th on the ground. While it may be true that New York has a slightly better passing attack, there’s no question that the Cowboys are the better offense. They’re also the better team playing in this Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants matchup.
New York Giants
The Giants recently parted ways with Ben McAdoo. McAdoo had disgraced himself in New York by allowing the OBJ to basically walk all over him. And instead of sticking up to a still unproven talent, McAdoo had no problem crapping all over Eli Manning. You know? The man who brought two Vince Lombardi trophies to the Big Apple. Ultimately, sportsbook players and football betting websites knew it would be a matter of time before McAdoo was out of there. Surprisingly, he ended up taking general manager Jerry Reese with him too. Ultimately, the NFL betting community is just glad it happened this quickly. Now the Giants have the opportunity to move on and improve, and Manning won’t have to be humiliated on the bench
Considering that this game is a rivalry, and the aforementioned coaching and managerial changes Big Blue has undergone, betting the spread seems like a good option for this matchup. The Giants are 5-7 against the spread while the Cowboys are 3-2 against the spread on the road.
