Saturday, August 12th - NFL Preseason Week 1 Betting

Online NFL betting fans can continue to wager on preseason matches this weekend as the NFL has plenty of action in store to get bettors excited about this upcoming season.

The NFL preseason was kicked off two weeks ago and has been in full swing ever since, offering plenty of NFL sportsbook action on both Thursday and Friday.

Let’s take a look at the preseason matchups that fans can bet on this upcoming weekend, specifically Saturday’s lineup.

Tennessee Titans vs. New York Jets – Saturday, August 12th

When: 7:30 pm ET

Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

TV: Local Broadcasts

Stream:, NFL Game Pass

Online NFL Betting Odds:

Tennessee Titans       -3 (-110)          37 (-105)

New York Jets +3 (-110)       37 (-115)

This will be the first time this preseason both these teams take to the field.  The Titans are coming off a 9-7 season that saw the franchise finish 2nd in the AFC South. In comparison, New York finished 2016 with a 5-11 record that pegged them as the worst team in the AFC East.

Despite the lackluster results, the Jets are sticking with third-year head coach Todd Bowles. New York comes into the 2017 season with high expectations, hoping that Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye – the Jets’ first two picks in the draft, will be able to take the team to the next level. Saturday’s game is the first time these two will be able to prove themselves on the gridiron.

The Titans enter this contest as the online NFL betting favorites, and rightfully so. The biggest thing at the top of the Titans agenda is to continue the development of Marcus Mariota. Throughout two seasons, Tennessee’s quarterback has thrown 26 touchdowns to just 9 interceptions. Mariota has the makings to be the face of the franchise and it’ll be interesting to see what he can do in 2017.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Rams – Saturday, August 12th

When: 9:00 pm ET

Where: LA Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles

TV: NFL Network

Stream:, NFL Game Pass

Online NFL Betting Odds:

Dallas Cowboys -3 (-113)      37 ½ (-110)

Los Angeles Rams +3 (-107) 37 ½ (-110)

Since the Cowboys are playing, this contest has received the national nod. Around this time last year, rookie Dak Prescott was making a name for himself, with many saying that the preseason hype wouldn’t roll over into the regular season.

We all saw how that turned out. The Cowboys are facing an entirely different scenario this season. Coming off a year in which they won the division but failed to win a postseason game once more, winning regular season games will no longer be enough for America’s Team.

The Rams are still getting acquainted with Los Angeles. Or rather, Los Angeles is starting to get acclimated with the losing ways of the Rams. However, with Jeff Fisher no longer in charge, the Rams might just beat 8-8 this season, even if football betting sites don’t think so.

Oakland Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals – Saturday, August 12th

When: 10:00 pm ET

Where: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale

TV: Local Broadcasts

Stream:, NFL Game Pass

Online NFL Betting Odds:

Oakland Raiders +3 (-115)   39 ½ (-115)

Arizona Cardinals -3 (-105)  39 ½ (-105)

The Raiders haven’t quite made the move to Las Vegas and it’ll be interesting to see how their fanbase reacts to this dilemma. Nonetheless, Saturday’s game will be all about the improvements Oakland may or may have not made.

The biggest thing to keep an eye out for is Marshawn Lynch and Derek Carr’s performance. Lynch is coming out of retirement and we’ll want to see if he lost a step or not. Carr suffered a horrifying injury last season and we have to see how well he can bounce back. The AFC West isn’t excited about this duo but the rest of the nation certainly is.

The Cardinals will be looking to return to playoff form. Unfortunately, with Carson Palmer under center, it’s hard to imagine them coming out on top in a division that houses the Seahawks.
