San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers punished the Panthers’ indecisive tactics with a 51-13 scoreboard. QB Jimmy Garoppolo was his usual cool self, quietly throwing in 2 touchdowns. He did 18/22 with 175 passing yards. He even had an interception for that game.

The rushes of Tevin Coleman was enough to keep enemy defenders jittery. Coleman converted 3 rushing touchdowns. He also ran 105 yards while holding the ball 11 times. George Kittle did 6 receptions for another yardage gain of 86. The 49ers showed no mercy with their 63 plays which helped them gain 388 yards. Their opponents, meanwhile, had 230 yards and 3 forced turnovers.

The difference in yardage is a good indicator of who won a particular match. The 49ers played choking defense when they only allowed roughly half of their opponent’s throws to connect. There’s really nothing to improve with their game-plan; they just have to be true and consistent for them to become instant finalists in the NFL!

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have just come from a disheartening defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. The 31-9 scoreboard was further proof that they were outgunned by opponent tactics. QB Kyler Murray ended the game with no touchdowns and interceptions. He was able to do 19/33 and 220 passing yards, a good enough figure.

Christian Kirk attempted rushing touchdowns but was also intercepted by the Saints’ capable defenders. Kirk did a long run at 19 yards, which, incidentally, was also his only carry. Charles Clay caught 3 passes for 88 important yards. The Cardinals were obviously going to lose that game. Their defense was of no consequence at all. The defense allowed 79% of opponent passes to connect. In terms of statistics, the Arizona Cardinals did a dismal 10 first downs, of which half were flagged for a penalty.

In order to win, the Cardinals badly need to take a seminar on aggressiveness. They are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league right now. The only way to remedy is to focus on pulling off an offensive blitz that will catch their opponent off-guard. Hopefully, we will get to see this in the upcoming game.
