New Orleans Saints Vs. Los Angeles Rams NFL betting picks and odds

Last week was the ultimate NFL betting reminder about how dangerous the Saints are. And how difficult it is to finish off New Orleans. Indeed, the Saints were considered dead and buried only to win anyway in a Monday Night thriller over the Texans. Now comes the game that has been circled on everyone’s calendar in the Crescent City. Los Angeles escaped New Orleans with the NFC Championship eight months ago. A blown pass interference call was a major reason as to why. Supplementing this revenge match for the Saints is the sluggish performance of the LA offense opening day.

New Orleans Saints

Although they did not get the money the Saints scored a 30-28 win over the Texans. Houston got the go-ahead touchdown to take a 28-27 lead with 37 seconds to play. However, it proved to be 37 seconds too long as Will Lutz kicked a 58-yard field goal to win the game in thrilling fashion. Namely Drew Brees was his sensational Hall of Fame self with 370 yards and two touchdowns. The game was a reminder of just how capable the Saints are as an NFC contender. Running back Alvin Kamara and wideout Michael Thomas figured as well.

Players to Watch: QB Drew Brees (74% comp, 370 YDS, 8.6 AVG, 2 TD, 1 INT, 105.8 RTG), RB Alvin Kamara (13 RSH, 97 YDS, 7.5 YPC, 0 TD, 7 REC, 72 YDS, 10.3 YPC, 0 TD), RB Latavius Murray (6 RSH, 43 YDS, 7.2 YPC, 1 TD), WR Michael Thomas (10 REC, 123 YDS, 12.3 YPC, 0 TD), WR Ted Ginn Jr (7 REC, 101 YDS, 14.4 YPC, 0 TD)

Los Angeles Rams

The first-week action was a close call for the Rams in a 30-27 win and payout at Carolina. Of great concern is that the Panthers kept the Rams offense in check most of the day. Jared Goff was limited to 186 yards passing. It was an eerie reminder of LA’s Super Bowl failure against the Patriots. Namely, running back Todd Gurley impressed with 97 yards rushing. Defensively the Rams forced three turnovers. While not a dominant performance it was a win that Sean McVay and crew will take and run with.

Players to Watch: QB Jared Goff (59% COMP, 186 YDS, 4.8 AVG, 69.0 RTG), RB Todd Gurley II (14 RSH, 97 YDS, 6.9 YPC, 0 TD), RB Malcolm Brown (11 ATT, 53 YDS, 4.8 YPC, 2 TD), WR Robert Woods (8 REC, 70 YDS, 8.8 YPC, 0 TD), WR Cooper Kupp (7 REC, 46 YDS, 6.6 YPC, 0 TD), TE Tyler Higbee (4 REC, 20 YDS, 5.0 YPC, 0 TD)
