Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Preview ( Week 3 Odds)
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
One year ago, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was on one of the hottest seats in the NFL. Harbaugh has proven his resiliency with a remade Baltimore team. Namely, Lamar Jackson taking over at quarterback likely saved the coach’s job. Jackson has proven to be betting on NFL games upgrade over the now-departed Joe Flacco. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have perhaps the top quarterback in the game with Patrick Mahomes. The near-miss of a Super Bowl last year has the Chiefs motivated to finish in 2019. An improved defense could be the final piece of the puzzle.
Baltimore Ravens Vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Baltimore is 2-0 straight up, 1-1 with the odds and 1-1 on totals. Last week the Ravens beat Arizona 23-17 as 13-point home overlays. Traditionally Baltimore boasts one of the top defenses in the NFL. To show the Ravens rank second overall, first against the rush and fourth for points allowed. Jackson has proven to be a quick study at quarterback and adds the element of the run.
Players to Watch: QB Lamar Jackson (71% COMP, 596 YDS, 10.5 AVG, 7 TD, 0 INT, 145.2 RTG, 19 RSH, 126 YDS, 6.6 YPC, 0 TD), RB Mark Ingram II (27 RSH, 154 YDS, 5.7 YPC, 2 TD, 2 REC, 30 YDS, 15.0 YPC, 0 TD), RB Gus Edwards (20 RSH, 67 YDS, 3.3 YPC, 0 TD), WR Marquise Brown (12 REC, 223 YDS, 19.4 YPC, 2 TD), TE Mark Andrews (16 REC, 220 YDS, 13.8 YPC, 2 TD), PK Justin Tucker (10-10 XP, 4-4 FG)
Kansas City Chiefs
Everything is up to date in Kansas City. Consider the Chiefs are 2-0 both straight up and against the spread with 1-1 on totals. The Chiefs are coming off a 28-10 payout at Oakland over the rival Raiders. Namely defensive coordinator Steve Spagnola has been charged with tightening up the unit. So far results are impressive as the Chiefs rank ninth for points allowed. If Kansas City can even be average on defense that could be “super” enough with their explosive offense.
Players to Watch: QB Patrick Mahomes (71% COMP, 821 YDS, 10.7 AVG, 411 YDS, 7 TD, 0 INT, 136.3 RTG), RB LeSean McCoy (21 RSH, 104 YDS, 5.0 YPC, 0 TD), RB Damien Williams (23 RSH, 34 YDS, 1.5 YPC, 1 TD, 9 REC, 87 YDS, 9.7 YPC, 0 TD), WR Sammy Watkins (15 REC, 247 YDS, 16.5 YPC, 3 TD), TE Travis Kelce (10 REC, 195 YDS, 19.5 YPC, 1 TD), WR Demarcus Robinson (7 REC, 172 YDS, 24.6 YPC, 2 TD), PK Harrison Butler (4-4 FG, 8-8 XP)
