Raiders’ Massive Online NFL Betting Favorites in Week 2
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
The Oakland Raiders suffered the biggest heartbreak of the 2016 online NFL betting season. And that’s including the Atlanta Falcon’s crushing Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. At the end of the season and right before the start of the playoffs, Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr suffered a broken fibula that would ensure their star would be sidelined when they needed him the most. And without him, Oakland didn’t stand a chance in their Wild Card match against the Houston Texans – and that’s despite the fact that the Texans had Osweiler under center.
Naturally, Oakland fans were itching for the 2017 season to finally begin and their hallowed team didn’t disappoint, delivering a big win over the Tennessee Titans. Players who bet online on the Raiders’ opener got to cash in on some lucrative underdogs, but they won’t get that pleasure in Week 2. Take a look.

New York Jets
The Jets are entering the 3rd year of the Todd Bowles era and it’s not off to a good start so far. New York opened up the 2017 season by facing their AFC East rival’s the Buffalo Bills on the road and suffered a clear-sided 21-12 loss. The Jets struggled to gain 214 yards on offense while allowing the Bills to gain a whopping 408. Moving forward, it’s clear that the Jets are going to need a stronger performance at the quarterback position.
Right now, the Jets have 15-year veteran Josh McCown tossing the pigskin. McCown has played for more teams than one can imagine and in truth, that’s not really something to be proud of. Last season, for the Cleveland Browns, McCown finished the year with a 72.3 passer rating. This past weekend, the veteran finished with a 56.2 passer rating. Yet, the Jets prefer to have him under center than a polarizing figure like Colin Kaepernick. Regardless of politics, the online NFL betting odds aren’t going to favor the Jets with McCown as their quarterback.
In their game against the Titans, the Raiders finished the day with 359 yards on offense. Their defense, which was problematic all of last year, gave up quite a bit of yardage themselves, allowing Tennessee to gain 350 on the day. Nevertheless, the Raiders’ defense came up big when they needed it most and only gave up 16 points on the day.
An offense consisting of Derek Carr, Marshawn Lynch and Michael Crabtree will have no problem beating 16 points and this Sunday proved that as they cruised past their opponent 26-16. Carr finished the day with a 114.3 passer rating, Lynch earned 76 on 18 carries averaging a monstrous 4.2 yards per attempt, and Crabtree earned 83 yards through the air. Things are going well for the Silver and Black.
