Sunday, August 13th - NFL Preseason Betting Game Odds

The hype for this year’s upcoming online NFL betting season continues to build. This upcoming weekend, fans will have the opportunity to hit up NFL sportsbooks for some preseason action.

The preseason has been in full swing for two weeks now. The biggest news to come out if yet involves the NFL’s suspension of the Dallas Cowboys’ running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Elliott is recognized as one of the best in the league and he will be suspended for 6 weeks. This news will certainly impact the Cowboys’ ability to contend without their star running back, as an incredible amount of pressure will now fall on Prescott’s shoulders.

But enough about the Cowboys. Let’s take a look at some of the preseason matches fans can wager on this weekend, specifically the games that will take place this Sunday.

Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts – Sunday, August 13th

When: 1:30 pm ET

Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis

TV: NFL Network

Stream:, NFL Game Pass

Online NFL Betting Odds:

Detroit Lions PK (-115)         36 ½ (-119)

Indianapolis Colts PK (-105) 36 ½ (-102)

Sunday’s online NFL betting action will be kicked off by an interesting matchup between two teams that don’t often face each other.

The Lions finished 9-7 in 2016 and managed to just barely sneak into the playoffs via a Wild Card draw. Detroit had an opportunity to win the NFC North late in the season but suffered a string of losses that opened the door for the Green Bay Packers to come in and take the division out from under them. Detroit comes into the season with high expectations but they’re not favorites over the Pack in the North.

The Colts have gone 8-8 in back-to-back seasons, which is disappointing for their fans who felt like Indianapolis should’ve been releasing better results. Most people betting on NFL preseason games would agree that Andrew Luck is one of the better quarterbacks in the league. We’ll just have to see how much the Colts can squeeze out of him this season.

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Diego Chargers – Sunday, August 13th

When: 8:00 pm ET

Where: StubHub Center, Carson

TV: NFL Network

Stream:, NFL Game Pass

Online NFL Betting Odds:

Seattle Seahawks +1 ½ (-110)           37½ (-115)

San Diego Chargers -1 ½ (-110)       37½ (-105)

A preseason game pitting one of the best teams from the NFC West against a team from the AFC West.

The Seahawks delivered a 10-5-1 record last year that gave way to a 1st place finish in the division. Seattle beat the Lions in the Wild Card round but were quickly dismissed in the divisional round by the Falcons 20-36. One of the biggest storylines surrounding this year’s Seattle team involves rumors regarding a lack of camaraderie in the locker room. Specifically, Seattle’s defense – which is universally as one of the best in the league, feels that the team is consistently held back by a poor offense and that head coach Pete Carroll is more interested in babying Russell Wilson than holding him accountable.

The Chargers delivered an abysmal season last year, winning just 5 games and finishing last in the division. There’s no real online NFL betting reason to expect much of a change from San Diego this season.
