The power of Fitz compels you: NY Jets versus Dolphins

The New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins will meet in a clash of teams in the midst of a two-game winning streak on Sunday, November 6th at Hard Rock Stadium. Here are the online NFL betting odds:
Jets +4 (-115) 44 (-110)
The Jets (3-5) had their obligatory win – each team in the league is entitled to one – over the Cleveland Browns, 31-28 on Sunday. Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had complained that his teammates and coaches, and fans, and the team owners, and the guy who sells hot dogs, had lost faith in him when he was benched in favor of Geno Smith. And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Just because a guy leads the league in interceptions, suddenly he’s some kind of leper? In lieu of the injured false prophet Smith, Fitzy threw 16 of 34 for 228 yards with one TD pass to wide receiver Quincy Enunwa. Additionally, Fitz led consecutive scoring drives of 78, 84 and 81 yards. Then the QB treated thousands of fans to fish and bread to celebrate the victory.
The Dolphins (3-4) – who are not a fish, but a mammal – rallied from an 11-point deficit and beat the Buffalo Bills 28-25 on Sunday on the strength of running back Jay Ajayi’s 214 rushing yards on 29 carries. Ajayi scored on a 4-yard run, Damien Williams did likewise on a 12-yard run, and QB Ryan Tannehill connected with Kenny Stills for a 66-yard TD. Tannehill finished 15 of 25 for 204 passing yards. Ajayi tied the record for consecutive 200-yard games held by O.J. Simpson, Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams. “Those are Hall of Fame guys, guys I look up to,” Ajayi said. Nope, no convicted felons in that group. At all.
For the Jets, Fitzpatrick has gone 152 of 271 with 1789 yards, seven TDs and 11 interceptions. Running back Matt Forte leads the rushing attack with 542 yards on 157 carries and six TDs, and wide Brandon Marshall is the team’s top receiver with 34 catches for 540 yards and two scores. For the Dolphins, Tannehill has thrown 139 of 213 for 1728 yards, seven TDs, and seven interceptions. Ajayi leads the running game with 535 yards on 84 carries and five TDs. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry has 46 catches for 572 yards and one score.
And for now for something online NFL betting fans would expect to find in a football betting site, the Jets are 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games versus AFC East teams, 8-3-2 against the spread in their last 13 games after an ATS win, 1-5 against the spread in their last six games in November, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games on grass. Huh. I thought the league was dead set against that. Meanwhile, Miami’s online NFL betting stuff goes like this: 3-7 in their last 10 games on grass, 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 games at home, 5-16 against the spread facing a team with a losing record, and 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 against AFC East teams.
