Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers were hopeful that 2017 would be a successful year and it turned out to be just that for the franchise. All in all the Steelers turned in a 13-3 record on their way to another AFC North title. Some NFL sports betting pundits felt that the team would be hindered by franchise tagging Le’Veon Bell. Since Bell has been trying to secure a larger payday, some felt he wouldn’t give it his all on the field. That didn’t turn out to be the case as Bell turned in some of the best stats of his career. Not only that, he was instrumental in securing Pittsburgh’s 1st round bye. But when the AFC Divisional matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars rolled around, Pittsburgh found themselves on the losing end 45-42. It was a close game but it shows this team still has improvements to make if they are to make another Super Bowl.

Players to Watch: Ben Roethlisberger (4,251 passing yards, 28 TD, 14 INT), Le’Veon Bell (1,291 rushing yards, 9 TD, 2 F), and Antonio Brown (1,533 receiving yards, 9 TD, 101 REC).

Philadelphia Eagles

Having won the Super Bowl, the Eagles are setting the bar extra high for this upcoming season. Last year’s triumph marked the franchise’s 1st Super Bowl triumph and it’ll be interesting to see how the city deals with the success. Ultimately Philly loves to be hated so sports bettors should anticipate that they’ll play it up as much as possible. Right now it would seem that there is zero controversy coming out of the Eagles locker room regarding the quarterback situation. Carson Wentz is listed as the starter and is getting the reps in practice. However, this is one pebble that could come back and be a problem for Philly down the road. Especially if Wentz begins to struggle for some unforeseen reason.

Players to Watch: Carson Wentz (3,296 passing yards, 33 TD, 7 INT), LeGarrette Blount (766 rushing yards, 2 TD, 1 F), and Zach Ertz (824 receiving yards, 8 TD, 74 REC).
