Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cleveland Browns Thursday’s Preseason Picks

Despite winning the Super Bowl back in February, the Philadelphia Eagles have not had much success during this year’s NFL football betting preseason. Granted it’s just the preseason but the fact still remains; this does not bode well. This Thursday, the Eagles might catch a break as they had to Cleveland to take on the Browns. But even Cleveland has managed to pick up a preseason win. With that in mind, will the sports betting odds side against the Eagles? Let’s take a quick sportsbook gander.

The Eagles made franchise history earlier this season when they brought the Vince Lombardi to Philadelphia for the first time in Eagle’s history. However, Philly has had all summer to celebrate and now it’s time to get back to business. But since they haven’t won a single preseason game, it appears that they’re having a hard time getting settled once more. This could spell trouble for the Eagles since they have plenty of hurdles to get through this year, especially being in the NFC East. The NFC East is projected to be one of the toughest divisions of this upcoming season. If the Eagles are to stand a chance of taking the East once more, they’ll need to be on their best behavior from the get go.
Players to Watch: Carson Wentz (3,296 passing yards, 33 TD, 7 INT), Jay Ajayi (408 rushing yards, 1 TD, 2 F), and Zach Ertz (824 passing yards, 8 TD, 74 REC).
The Browns are setting the bar high this season, aiming to rake in at least one win. That of course is a joke, but there’s a sliver of truth since Cleveland is coming off an 0-16 season. Hue Jackson will reprise his role as Cleveland’s head coach but we have to imagine he’s on the hot seat considering he’s 1-15 and 0-16 in the last two seasons. All in all Cleveland enters this Thursday’s action sporting a 1-1 preseason schedule. Since the Eagles are winless so far, the Browns might just have a shot at home. Then again this is Week 3, which means the starters will be seeing a lot more reps. That could spell trouble for the Browns.
Players to Watch: DeShone Kizer (2,894 passing yards, 11 TD, 22 INT), Duke Johnson Jr. (348 rushing yards, 4 TD, 1 F), and Seth DeValve (395 receiving yards, 1 TD, 57 REC).
