Patriots vs. Dolphins 2019 NFL Week 2 Lines & Game Preview

The first-week action was a tale of two franchises. New England is the powerful dynasty that flexed its championship muscles in a powerful Sunday Night Football statement maker. Also making a statement were the Miami Dolphins. For all of the wrong reasons. Clearly the Fish are the least appealing team on the betting on NFL, board after an opening day debacle in which they were rendered helpless. Now Miami hosts the Patriots in what looks to be an impossible task. New England has ruled the AFC East with an iron fist for two decades. Change does not seem pending.
New England Patriots Vs. Miami Dolphins
New England Patriots
To be exact Patriot haters look like they will be in for a long year. New England wiped the floor with the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 33-3 win on national prime time TV. Namely, Tom Brady continues to defy the time machine at quarterback. Brady passed for 341 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Likewise, the defense suffocated the Steelers. It was a stunning total team performance that shows the Pats are already in Super Bowl form. And then there is head coach Bill Belichick and the assurance he won’t allow satisfaction for comfort.
Players to Watch: QB Tom Brady (67% COMP, 341 YDS, 9.5 AVG, 3 TD, 0 INT, 124.9 RTG), RB Rex Burkhead (8 RSH, 44 YDS, 5.5 YPC, 0 TD, 5 REC, 41 YDS, 8.2 YPC, 0 TD), RB Sony Michel (15 RSH, 14 YDS, 0.9 YPC, 0 TD), WR Phillip Dorsett (4 REC, 95 YDS, 23.8 YPC, 2 TD), WR Julian Edelman (6 REC, 83 YDS, 0 TD)
Last week the Dolphins home opener could not have upset customers any more than it actually did. Miami was destroyed by Baltimore 59-10. Defensively the Dolphins were chewed up for 265 yards rushing. And Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 324 yards and five touchdown passes. In the same way, the offense was totally inept. Miami ran for 21 yards on 12 carries. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 195 yards and a TD. Decidedly it was apparent that the Dolphins lack breakaway firepower. Head coach Brian Flores first game did not inspire confidence for the future.
Players to Watch: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (48% COMP, 185 YDS, 6.4 AVG, 1 TD, 1 INT, 66 RTG), RB Kenyan Drake (4 RSH, 12 YDS, 3.0 YPC, 0 TD), WR DeVante Parker (3 REC, 75 YDS, 25.0 YPC, 0 TD) WR Preston Williams (3 REC, 24 YDS, 8.0 YPC, 0 TD)

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins Betting Picks
To begin with, the capabilities of both teams in this matchup are a stark contrast. Flores is a former Patriots assistant that now sees life from the wrong sideline. Of great concern is that there will be a flood of legal betting activity on the Patriots. The Dolphins getting 19 points at home is a strong contrarian play.
Score Prediction: New England Patriots 31, Miami Dolphins 17
