Online NFL Wagering Ruling out San Fran Once Again

San Francisco 49ers vs. Washington Redskins Odds for NFL Week 6

The San Francisco 49ers came so close to winning their first game of the 2017 online NFL wagering season this past weekend. Playing in Indianapolis, the Niners had the Colts on the ropes forcing the game to go into overtime at 23 all. The Colts won the coin toss and ended up receiving, but the Niners’ defense held and got their offense a shot to win the game, via intercepting quarterback Jacoby Brissett – the man stepping in for the injured Andrew Luck.

But behind Brian Hoyer’s best efforts, the Niners’ offense stumbled, earning just one first down before being forced to punt. The punt allowed San Francisco to pin Indianapolis back on their own 18. But after playing a full game of professional football and then some more in overtime, the 49ers’ defense was exhausted. The Colts marched down the field and drained the field goal to ensure that the 49ers would remain winless through 6 weeks into the betting NFL online season.

Online NFL Wagering Odds:

San Francisco 49ers +10 (-115)        46 ½ (-110)

Washington Redskins -10 (-105)      46 ½ (-110)

San Francisco 49ers

The Niners are 0-5 heading into this game and have improvements to make on both sides of the ball. San Fran hasn’t been getting much out of the quarterback position with Hoyer posting 4 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 1,211 yards and a 75.8 passer rating. Those aren’t the best numbers in the league and it forces online NFL wagering fans to wonder whether or not Kaepernick could’ve put up better numbers. Nevertheless, Hoyer hasn’t been getting much help from the defense himself.

Washington Redskins

At 2-2, the Redskins are very much poised to make a run for the NFC East or at least a Wild Card berth into the postseason. The Redskins have suffered two tough losses this season; one came at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in opening week and the other came at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. Losing against a divisional rival isn’t a sign of weakness and losing against the Chiefs, the team many NFL sportsbook players feel like is the current front runner for the Vince Lombardi trophy, isn’t either. But if Washington loses this upcoming weekend it will mark a consecutive loss for the franchise, something they cannot afford with the Eagles looming over them at the top of the division. Luckily for Washington, they are coming off a Bye Week.

The Redskins will be hoping that the added rest is good enough to dominate San Fran. Looking over both teams’ numbers, it’s clear that Washington didn’t really need the extra sleep versus the 49ers. Washington enters this game with the league’s 13th best scoring offense, 9th best total offense and 18th best defense in terms of points allowed. Considering that the Niners rank 25th in scoring and 22nd in points allowed, it’s clear that bettors should stick to Washington on this one.
