Seattle Seahawks

Seattle has enjoyed plenty of success under the Pete Carroll era and Seahawks fans were confident their team could deliver. Although the Seahawks finished the year with a 10-5-1 record, an NFC West title, and an appearance in the divisional round in the playoffs, it’s hard to imagine that Seattle fans feel that 2016 was a success. After all, the Hawks were competing for a Vince Lombardi trophy a few years ago.

The biggest thing holding back Seattle in 2016 was a consistent inability to find the end zone from their offense. Heck, early in the season Seattle struggled to outscore the Rams and actually ended up tying with one of the worst teams in the country.

Online NFL betting fans that have been paying attention to the Seahawks this past offseason surely caught wind of reports indicating that there has been a growing turmoil in Seattle’s locker room. Apparently players on the defensive side of the ball has built up a resentment for Pete Carroll that stems from Carroll’s decision to pass the ball on the 1-yard line in their Super Bowl match against the Patriots. We all remember how that turned out, and there has been no shortage of criticism aimed at Carroll.

Carroll and the rest of the Seahawk organization look to put this controversy behind them in 2017.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders shocked the nation by delivering a masterful 12-4 performance that allowed Oakland to punch in a ticket for the playoffs. Unfortunately for fans of the silver and black, a late season injury to quarterback Derek Carr ensured that Oakland would not advance past the Wild Card round. Carr had unquestionably been the foundation that the Raiders built their success upon in 2016 and without him: Oakland didn’t stand a chance to win a postseason game.

Heading into the 2017 season, the Raiders have some questions regarding how Carr will rebound from such a severe injury. However, the addition of Beast Mode should help take some off the pressure off of Carr’s back. Marshawn Lynch made his return from retirement this season and it’s no understatement to say that we’re all excited to find out exactly how much Lynch has left in the tank.
