Online NFL Betting Odds Like Pack Over Hawks

Once the preseason wraps up this Thursday, online NFL betting fans can finally prepare for the start of the 2017 season. The season will officially commence on Thursday, September 7th – when the reigning Super Bowl champions host the Kansas City Chiefs. Afterwards, players who bet on NFL games can finally look forward to football-filled Sundays.
Naturally, NFL betting players will want to kick the season off on a good note by cashing in on some appealing lines. The Week 1 contest between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers, both of whom won their respective divisions, offers both lucrative odds and a matchup whose competitiveness rivals that of a playoff game. Let’s take a look at which team the best online sportsbooks are favoring.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers – Sunday, September 10th
When: 4:25 pm ET
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay
Stream: NFL Game Pass
Online NFL Betting Odds:
Seattle Seahawks +3 (-115) 49½ (-110) +140
Green Bay Packers -3 (-105) 49½ (-110) -160
The Seahawks finished the 2016 season with a 10-5-1 record that allowed Seattle to win the NFC West. Once in the playoffs, Seattle was able to defeat the Lions in the NFC Wild Card round 20-36 but fell short against the Atlanta Falcons in the divisional round 20-36.
Seattle looks to once again lay claim to what many consider to be one of the easier divisions in the NFL. Realistically speaking, only the Arizona Cardinals stand to challenge Seattle in the division – at least if we’re going off last year’s results. Heading into the 2017 season, online sportsbooks have Seattle listed as favorites in the division by a long shot.
The Hawks’ 2016 struggles stemmed mostly from an offense that frequently sputtered. To help address their offensive issues, Seattle brought in a total of 7 free agents on the offensive side of the ball. However, the Seahawks elected to choose a different route in the draft, with most of their selections being defenders.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers were one win away from competing for a Super Bowl last season. And now, a recent ESPN article has cast their quarterback in somewhat of a quirky light, leaving Rodgers’ critics claiming that #12 is too aloof to lead the Pack to another Vince Lombardi trophy. Nevertheless, the online NFL betting odds are giving the Pack the second best odds of the lot to win this year’s Big Game.
It’s no mystery as to what kept Green Bay out of last year’s title match: a defense that had haunted Rodgers all season long. The Packers’ secondary was notably worst than run defense but it wouldn’t be crazy to expect a turnaround from the group this upcoming season.
The Pack currently has Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at free safety, who was elected to his first pro bowl last season and was also selected as second-team All-Pro. Furthermore, Green Bay decided to choose Kevin King with their first pick in the draft. King is one of the tallest and most physical corners available and a preseason injury to Damarious Randall has thrust him into the starting position.
