There are a handful of different matchups to bet on, but one pairing worth looking over is the contest between the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys. Let’s see what NFL sportsbooks have to say about it.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Dallas Cowboys – Saturday, August 19th

Online NFL Betting Odds:
Indianapolis Colts +5 ½ (-115) 39 ½ (-105)
Dallas Cowboys -5 ½ (-105) 39 ½ (-115)
In Chuck Pagano’s 4th season as the Colts’ head coach, Indianapolis managed to post an 8-8 record that was a massive let down to their fan base that was expecting much grander results. Before 2016, the Colts qualified for the playoffs three years in a row, and in 2015 the organization was one win away from competing for the Super Bowl. Indianapolis will be looking to return to those winning ways in 2017.
To help them get there, the Colts brought in a total of 8 different players during free agency. Not too many off those additions jump off the paper at you however. The Colts snagged free safety Malik Hooker – one of the best defensive prospects in this year’s draft, out of Ohio State 15th overall.
The Colts played their first game of the preseason this past Sunday, when they hosted the Detroit Lions. The Lions came close to winning the NFC North last season but fell short at the last minute. Nevertheless, they were a good challenge for the Colts. In the end, they might have posed too big a challenge for Indianapolis who fell short 10-24. The Colts now look to tighten up a defense that was torn apart all day against Detroit. Football betting sites have rightfully pegged Indy as underdogs this Saturday.
The Dallas Cowboys were one of the biggest surprises last season, taking a couple of rookies and delivering a 13-3 record despite the loss of longtime starting quarterback Tony Romo. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott stepped into the Cowboys’ starting offense and performed like a couple of veterans. Unfortunately for Dallas, they won’t have that dynamic duo ready out of the gate.
One of the biggest online NFL betting stories this offseason involved Elliott’s suspension. The NFL took long enough releasing a verdict on Elliott’s case, and it now looks like the Cowboys will be without their star running back for at least 6 weeks. This is a huge blow to Dallas as this places an incredible burden on Prescott. However, there have been some developments to this story and fans can catch up on it here.
