Online NFL Betting Lines Favoring Cowboys Once Again

The Denver Broncos are ready to get back into Super Bowl contention form, or at least their defense is. Last year, Denver was held back all season long by Trevor Siemian – who was looking to take over the newly retired Peyton Manning. Naturally, there was an online NFL betting drop off and the Broncos went from winning the Super Bowl to 9-7 and 3rd in the AFC West.
The way Denver kicked off the 2017 season leads many players who bet on NFL games to believe that the Broncos will once again be crippled by a lack of confidence on offense. On top of that, NFL betting lines have begun to lose confidence in Denver themselves as they’ve pegged them as underdogs against the reigning NFC East champions this weekend. Take a look.

The Cowboys kicked off this year’s Sunday night football by facing their NFC East rival’s the New York Giants at home. The game ended up being rather disappointing for a Sunday night football matchup and both teams are to blame. However, Dallas ended up coming out on top because they were able to accomplish their agenda: control the tempo of the game and chew up the clock with an exceptional running game.
That perfectly sums up what America’s Team will be trying to do this season and against New York, the Cowboys did just that. The Cowboys developed their running game early and finished with 129 yards on the ground, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. Prescott was his usual careful self, completing 24/39 for 268 yards, one touchdown and a passer rating of 90.5. The Cowboys are without a doubt the more complete team and enter this Sunday’s matchup as the rightful online NFL betting favorites.
The Broncos were saved by San Diego’s offense in their Week 1 matchup. It’s not that Denver’s defense performed poorly but rather that the Chargers had an opportunity late in the game to upset their AFC West rivals. The Chargers got the ball back, down three points, with 3 minutes still left on the clock and one timeout still in their pocket. Fortunately for the Broncos, Phillip Rivers was unable to command his team to a victory. But now, Denver will need a strong performance this Sunday before online NFL betting fans start picking the Raiders to win the West.
The biggest issue the Broncos need to address is Trevor Siemian. Siemian has the talent to be the quarterback of this franchise, the only problem is that he lacks the self-confidence to consistently play at the level that Denver needs. When he’s on, Siemian has the mobility and accuracy to be a threat. When he’s not, he chokes up and can’t read the defense.
