Online Football Betting Pumped for this MNF Matchup

The NFC East, just like our premonitions predicted, is shaping up to be the toughest division in online football betting. The Philadelphia Eagles, coming off a massive win over the Carolina Panthers, currently lead the East with their elite record of 5-1. Close behind the Eagles are the Washington Redskins at 3-2. This weekend, the Redskins will have an opportunity to close that gap as they travel to the Brotherly City to take on the Eagles in their own backyard. Let’s take a quick glance at what kind of battle online sportsbooks are predicting for this Week7 NFC East rivalry.
Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Monday, October 23rd
When: 8:30 pm ET
Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
Stream: Watch ESPN, NFL Game Pass
Online Football Betting Odds:
Washington Redskins +5 (-113) 49 (-110) +184
Philadelphia Eagles -5 (-107) 49 (-110) -220
The Redskins come into this weekend’s matchup flashing a 3-2 record that, as previously mentioned, ranks them No. 2 overall in the NFC East. The Redskins have suffered losses against the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs this season, so it’s not like they are falling short against mediocre teams. Furthermore, the Redskins have picked up wins over the Los Angeles Rams, Oakland Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers. Specifically, the Redskins faced San Francisco this past weekend and considering that they struggled to pull out a 26-24 over the still winless Niners, it makes perfect sense to see the betting NFL odds favoring the leaders of the NFC East so heavily. This weekend the Redskins will be going up against the league’s best run defense that also happens to rank 29th against the pass. With this in mind, fans can expect Washington to have a sour day on the ground but plenty of success through the air. In fact, it’s looking like this chapter in the Eagles-Redskins rivalry will end in a shootout.
The Eagles fly into this weekend’s pairing with a 5-1 record that gives them the lead in the division. Philadelphia found some success in 2016 and the franchise has had no problem building on that success in Doug Pederson’s second year at the helm. The Eagles’ offense has been the engine behind this teams’ stellar record. Right now Philadelphia’s offense ranks 6th in scoring, 3rd in total offense, 9th in passing and 4th in rushing. With a great running game behind him, Carson Wentz has been able to hit the ground running this season. Wentz currently has 13 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 1,584 yards and a 99.6 passer rating to his name. However, this upcoming Monday, Wentz will have to contend against the league’s 18th best pass defense. The Redskins also rank 8th against the run so if they can plug up the running lanes early in the game, the Eagles shouldn’t be able to find that much success of the play-action. Either way, the online football betting odds are going with Philly all the way.
