Denver Broncos

The Broncos stampede into this Week 8 contest sporting a 3-3 record that, as previously mentioned, ranks them 2nd in the AFC West. Denver had a great start to the season, winning their first two games of the year. However, since that hot start it has been nothing but ups and downs for the team that won the Super Bowl a couple years back. A 16-10 win over the Oakland Raiders made it seem like things were getting back to how they were for Denver. But, instead of putting together a respectable winning streak, the Broncos would go on to lose the last two games of the season consecutively. It’s that 2-game losing streak that Denver rides into this Monday night game. One that the franchise is desperately trying to break but one that football sportsbooks aren’t predicting will come into fruition.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs ride into this Monday night contest flashing a 5-2 record that pegs Kansas City as the best team in the division. Like the Broncos, the Chiefs have also hit a slump in recent time. It started with a 19-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers a few weeks back. Looking to bounce back on a Thursday night versus the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City was unable to close out the game in the closing minutes to lose 31-30. Had the Chiefs’ offense been able to extend their final drive of the game, KC would’ve come out on top. But instead, multiple penalties on behalf of a tired Kansas City defense allowed Derek Carr & Co. multiple attempts at a game-winning touchdown – something you simply cannot do against Carr.

Online football betting players wagering on this contest will want to know who to back. At first glance, the Chiefs seem like the obvious choice. However, given both team’s recent struggles, this one might require a closer examination. Unquestionable, the Chiefs have the better offense. But the opposite is true for Denver: the Broncos’ defense is miles ahead of Kansas City’s. Specifically, the NFL’s 3rd best scoring offense will have to pull one over the league’s 11th best defense in terms of points allowed and No. 1 total defense in the league. It’ll be an interesting result to say the least.
