Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles fly into this Sunday night matchup sporting an 8-1 record that is the best in the entire NFL. Philly’s only loss of the season came to the Kansas City Chiefs back in Week 2 when the Chiefs were the hottest team in the NFL. Nowadays, that title belongs to the Eagles as Carson Wentz is leading a prolific and explosive offense backed by a tough and punishing defense. The Eagles are also riding a 7 game winning streak into this contest, with their most recent victory being a 51-23 pummeling over the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are very much one of the best defensive teams in the NFL and seeing Philly do that to them not only solidifies Philadelphia as the frontrunner in the NFC but paints them as an extremely dangerous team in the long run. But despite all that, the NFL betting odds are still giving America’s Team a shot this Sunday night.

Dallas Cowboys

Through the first half of the season, the Cowboys embodied a mediocre team. A couple injuries took out key players on the defense, and their offense, the offensive line in particular, could not live up to its 2016 glory. But then, facing the winless San Francisco 49ers, it seemed that something clicked for the Cowboys as they were able to deliver a 40-10 finish over the Niners. This revitalized the team’s confidence and allowed them to mount a 3 game winning streak. But then destiny struck and the suspension Ezekiel Elliott had been avoiding all season long finally came into play. Without Elliot in the lineup, most online betting football fans were expecting to see Dallas fall off of the face of the Earth. That’s exactly what we got this past Sunday as the struggling Atlanta Falcons had their way with the Cowboys 27-7.

Dallas will once again be without Elliott this Sunday, which will lead most players to pick Philly over the Cowboys this Sunday. For starters, the payout on a Cowboy upset isn’t that great, not for a team going up against the current No. 1 in the NFC. Furthermore, we have no reason to believe that Dak Prescott can lead the Cowboys offense without Elliott backing him up. Lastly, if the Broncos couldn’t stop Carson Wentz, how will Dem Boys?
