NFL Wagering Odds Not Taking A Chance on Seattle
Posted by: Charlie Smith
The Seattle Seahawks aren’t everyone’s pick to win the Super Bowl, but there is a fair share of online NFL wagering players who picked the reigning NFC West champions to walk away with the Vince Lombardi trophy come February. But what we’ve seen from Seattle so far has left many bettors wondering whether or not the Hawks can even win the division let alone the Super Bowl.
The Seahawks will have an opportunity to win over NFL betting sportsbooks this upcoming Sunday, when they travel to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. Interestingly enough, the online NFL wagering odds have already decided to side against Seattle.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Tennessee Titans – Sunday, September 24th

Online NFL Wagering Odds:
Seattle Seahawks +3 (-125) 42 ½ (-105) +125

The Seahawks had a tough challenge right out of the gate in 2017: taking on the reigning NFC North champion Green Bay Packers. Any team with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback is a threat, and the Packers were anything but to be taken lightly. But it wasn’t Seattle’s defense that came up short from the franchise, after all the Legion of Boom was able to hold Green Bay to 17 points. Rather, it was their offense that spectacularly underperformed.
Against the Packers, the Seahawks could not seem to find the end zone or move the ball around much. Seattle finished the day with 225 total yards on offense and 3 field goals. The following week the Seahawks managed to edge out their first win of the season against their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. But despite getting one in the win column, it was another poor day for Seattle’s offense.
The Niners don’t have an elite defense any way you cut it and seeing the Seahawks only put up 12 on them makes it seem like they’re far from competing for a Vince Lombardi trophy. Nevertheless, Seattle’s defense is so good that they’ll be able to carry their offense into playoff conversations. Players who bet NFL games online might not want to take them over the Titans however, despite the lucrative action available.
Like the Hawks, the Titans roll into this matchup sporting a 1-1 record. And like Seattle, Tennessee’s record ties them alongside 2 other teams for the lead in the division. This Sunday, the Titans will do all they can to get an early lead in the AFC South and try to accumulate some sort of advantage over the Houston Texans – the team most online NFL wagering players are picking to win the division.
The Titans enter this game with an offense that’s much better than the Seahawks. Tennessee has the 9th highest scoring offense in the league, coupled with the 6th overall best offense as well as the 6th best rushing attack. Defensively the Titans aren’t as hot, with the NFL’s 16th highest points allowed per contest. However, there’s not much to stopping Seattle. The big question is what kind of success Tennessee will enjoy on offense.
