NFC North Rivalry this NFL Betting Online Monday Night

The Green Bay Packers, as most NFL betting online fans were expecting, have not found too much success following Aaron Rodgers’ broken collarbone. Online sports betting fans felt, that in all likelihood, back up Brett Hundley would struggle tremendously. With two games under his belt, and 1 touchdown, 4 interceptions, 244 yards and a disheartening 40.5 passer rating to his name, it’s safe to say that NFL bettors were right on this one. Nevertheless, Hundley will get an opportunity to prove himself this upcoming Monday night when he and the rest of the Green Bay Packers host the Detroit Lions for a little NFC North rivalry. What kind of chance are NFL bookmakers giving Hundley against a tough rival?

Detroit Lions -2 ½ (-110) 43 ½ (-110) -138
Green Bay Packers +2 ½ (-110) 43 ½ (-110) +118
The Lions crawl into this Monday night matchup sporting a 3-4 record that ranks them 3rd in the NFC North behind the Packers and the 6-2 Minnesota Vikings. Detroit was a division contender last season and there’s no doubt the franchise had some hopes of competing for the NFC North title this year. However, their losing record isn’t helping them out at all and the fact that Detroit has lost their last three in a row has led NFL sportsbooks to peg the Lions as slight favorites against a team stuck with their backup. Detroit should be a massive favorite considering the situation Green Bay is in but odds-makers haven’t seen anything good out of these Lions in over a month. On top of that, Lambeau Field isn’t the easiest place to steal a win and the 2-point spread line reflects that accurately.
Statistically speaking, this seems to be an evenly matched game. The Lions are scoring 25.1 points per game while the Packers are earning 23.4. Defensively Detroit allots 24.1 while Green Bay gives up 23.0 each weekend. If Green Bay’s backup can use the home field advantage to his favor, the Pack might just give the Lions a run for their NFL betting online money this Monday night.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers slide into this Week 9 contest with a 4-3 record that ranks them 2nd in the division. The Pack looked like they were on route to one heck of a season, posting a 4-1 record through their first 5 games of the year. But after Rodgers was placed on injured reserve, the Pack hasn’t won a game. They’ve lost two in a row and although they look like they can compete with other NFL teams, they don’t look like they have what it takes to win a game in the 4th quarter. Considering the talent of this time, they are often in a situation requiring a late-game comeback. Frankly, without Rodgers, they won’t be winning too many of those games.
