The Vikings were a great team throughout the regular season and they haven’t let up in the postseason. Minnesota’s path to the postseason was paved on the back of an Aaron Rodgers’ injury, and they even took one out of his playbook to make it this far. Specifically, the Vikings were on the verge of being sent home this past weekend. But thanks to some brilliant coaching, and some spectacular football, Minnesota pulled off a miracle.
A big shout out goes to Mike Zimmer, the Vikings’ head coach, who’s excellent use of timeouts near the end of the game ensured Minnesota would have a chance at a comeback. Additionally, the Vikings defense was able to hold New Orleans to a field goal, which ensured that the Saints wouldn’t pull away. And once the Vikings got the ball back, it wouldn’t be long before the clock ran down and Stefon Diggs was running over the goal line. It was a spectacular play but there’s no denying that there were some mistakes made in the Saints’ secondary.
Heading into this weekend’s postseason matchup, the Vikings are pegged as online football betting favorites. But the odds make it clear that this won’t be an easy one to predict. Likewise, since both games came down to the wire this past weekend, bettors can expect a similarly nail-biting experience this Sunday.
Most sportsbooks were expecting the Eagles to go all the way to the Super Bowl this season. The reason being, the Eagles’ were practically unchallenged on both sides of the ball. But when Carson Wentz went down with an injury, players began to question the Eagles’ Super Bowl chances. But so far, Philly hasn’t had any problems moving things along. This NFL betting weekend, the Eagles will undoubtedly face their biggest challenge. Heck, even Drew Brees struggled to get anything done against the Vikings’ defensive unit. Luckily for Philly, their defense is a little better than New Orleans. In other words, with the game on the line, don’t expect the Dirty Birds to blow their coverage. That said, players can expect a fierce showdown in this Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles championship game.
