Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams: Any Chance Minnesota Bounces Back?
Posted by: Charlie Smith
Without a doubt, the biggest shocker out of this past weekend’s NFL betting online action is the result of the Bills-Vikings matchup. After delivering two of the most pitiful performances in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills were pegged as massive underdogs against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings’ defense was just too tough and the offense had too much talent to be threatened by the likes of Buffalo. But instead of seeing the lopsided Minnesota victory we were all expecting, we saw Buffalo upset the Vikes 27-6 on the road. Now Minnesota is faced with the tough challenge of bouncing back from a tough loss to face one of the strongest teams in the NFC this Thursday night. What do the legal betting odds have to say about this Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams matchup?

NFL Betting Online Odds:
After suffering a humbling loss to Buffalo, the Vikings enter this Thursday Night Football matchup sporting a less than stellar 1-1-1 record. It’s definitely not the start the Vikings were hoping for considering last year’s success and the money they spent to secure Kirk Cousins as the starter. And in all honesty, it’s very surprising to see Minnesota in this position. Naturally, after seeing them fail to score more than 10 on a team that gave up over 30 to its first two opponent of the season, Vikings fans are looking at Cousins wondering what’s the matter. In fact, considering he threw one interception, had 3 fumbles 2 of which were lost, it’s safe to say that yesterday’s loss can be pinned on Cousins.
Granted, there was no rushing game to back him, but Cousins still got paid to win these types of game. Unfortunately, Cousins now has to go toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the NFC. Normally, we’d say that the Vikings have the talent to match the Rams. But considering LA will be going over this past Sunday’s tape, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Minnesota get blown out.
Players to Watch: Kirk Cousins (965 passing yards, 7 TD, 2 INT), Dalvin Cook (78 rushing yards, 0 TD, 1 F), and Adam Thielen (338 receiving yards, 1 TD, 32 REC).
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are undefeated thus far into the season and it was to be expected. All things considered, Los Angeles lucked out by facing some of the weakest teams in the NFL (the Raiders, Cardinals, and Chargers) right out of the gate. Oakland is struggling to find it’s identity under new head coach Jon Gruden, Arizona is vying to rebuild and Los Angeles might not belong in that category. In fact, the Chargers were the first real challenge LA faced this year. Nevertheless, the Rams turned to their high-powered offense and ball-hawking defense to get them a 35-23 victory. With a 2-game lead over their nearest competition in the division, Los Angeles will be looking to lock up the NFC West in the coming weeks. All in all, they shouldn’t have too hard of a time taking care of Minnesota this Thursday night.
Players to Watch: Jared Goff (941 passing yards, 6 TD, 2 INT), Todd Gurley II (255 rushing yards, 4 TD, 0 F), and Brandin Cooks (336 receiving yards, 0 TD, 19 REC).
