NFL Football Betting Odds:
The Dolphins finished the 2017 NFL season with a 6-10 record to finish 3rd in the AFC East. All in all, it wasn’t a terrible outing considering the injuries they were dealing with. Before the season kicked off, the Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill went down with a season ending injury. Not too long after that, the Dolphins would lose another starter, Jay Ajayi, to another injury. Without their starting runningback or starting quarterback, Miami knew they had a tough road ahead of them. However, the franchise certainly shot themselves in the foot by bringing Jay Cutler on board. Cutler had found some modest success with Adam Gase, the Fins’ head coach, a couple years ago when Gase was the OC over in Chicago. But in the end, Cutler led his team to another losing season as we all anticipated.
Players to Watch: Ryan Tannehill (Injured in 2017), Jay Ajayi (465 rushing yards, 0 TD, 1 F), and Kenny Stills (847 receiving yards, 6 TD, 58 REC).
Carolina managed to find success in 2017, finishing the year with an 11-5 record. Despite only losing 5 games on the year, Carolina still finished as the 2nd best team in the NFC South. And even though they got into the postseason, it didn’t take Carolina long to be eliminated. In fact, the Panthers were dismissed right away in the Wild Card round by the New Orleans Saints 26-31. It was a letdown but the Panthers still have enough pieces in place to be a threat this time around. Newton is starting to become a veteran and we should see some improvement in his play. Although we’re still seeing some childish antics out of him off the field.
Players to Watch: Cam Newton (3,302 passing yards, 22 TD, 16 INT), Jonathan Stewart (680 rushing yards, 6 TD, 3 F), and Devin Funchess (840 receiving yards, 8 TD, 63 REC).
