LA Chargers vs Chicago Bears 10/27/2019
The LA Chargers suffered a heartbreaking loss versus the Tennessee Titans. It was a very close game, ending with a 23-20 scoreboard. The Chargers’ QB, Philip Rivers, was making great plays. Sadly, it proved insufficient to tip the score in his team’s side. Rivers went 24/38 with an impressive showing of 329 air yards. He further enhanced his stats with 2 resounding touchdowns and zero picks. Melvin Gordon carried the ball 16 times. He scurried a total of 39 yards. The Chargers implemented 24 first downs. They were weighed down by a minimum of 4 penalties. The team was in winning form when it came to their attempts. They did 60 plays with a resulting yardage gain of 365. However, their biggest pitfall was their not-quite-there defense. They allowed their opponent to connect 80% of throw attempts. They were also unable to stop the 29 rush attempts. The Chargers lost a total of 403 yards and forced 1 turnover.
The Chargers can play as if they were top- or middle-ranked, as long as they’re motivated. This ‘heart strong’ technique, however, was obviously not enough to catapult them to the top of the list. They’ll need more realistic tactics to get back on track.

The Bears are also reeling from their loss versus the New Orleans Saints. They did rather well versus a team that was known for its rushing ability. QB Michel Trubinsky was the high point of the night. He threw 2 touchdowns and went 34/54 at 251 passing yards. He was supported by Tarik Cohen, whose rushes only amounted to a minimum of 10 yards. This is clear evidence that he was up against a brick wall of defense. Allen Robinson II tried to alleviate his team’s difficulty in setting up rushes, catching the ball 10 times. However, the Bears were digging their own grave. They conceded 23 out of 38 throw attempts, resulting in a 273 yardage gain by their opponent. Overall, the Bears gave way to an alarming 424 yards. This spelled instant advantage over their opponent since they got to play most of the field.
Like many other bottom-ranked teams, the Bears were plagued by problematic rushes. They are at a disappointing 28th placement for the number of rushes in the NFL. They have allowed too many passing touchdowns to slip through their defense too. The Bears have a lot to improve on if they want other teams to respect them next season.
