Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs marched to a 38-28 victory over the San Diego Chargers this past Sunday. While that score makes it seem that the game was extremely competitive, things felt more one-sided for those NFL football betting players that managed to tune in. Mahomes was a stud on the day throwing up 256 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. The young up and comer got plenty of help from Tyreek Hill, who finished the day with an astounding 169 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.  Defensively the Chiefs weren’t as dominant as they gave up a total of 547 yards on the day. Moving forward the Chiefs will need to lock down that defense. Especially this weekend since they’re going up against a Steelers team that earned 494 total yards in their 2018 debut.

The below-listed betting trends make it clear that the Chiefs haven’t had much success against the Steelers lately. However, this new-look Kansas City might be able to turn those tables.

Players to Watch: Patrick Mahomes (256 passing yards, 4 TD, 0 INT), Kareem Hunt (49 rushing yards, 0 TD, 0 F), and Tyreek Hill (169 receiving yards, 2 TD, 7 REC).

Pittsburgh Steelers

While Patrick Mahomes was shocking the nation in his 2018 debut, Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers were greatly disappointing their fan base. Big Ben managed to fail to pick up a win over the Cleveland Browns, who are coming off an 0-16 season. Despite Cleveland’s troubles, the Steelers managed to both fail to beat and fail to lose to them. That might sound like a conundrum but the 21-21 makes it clear that this tie was unexpected in every definition of the word. What was most surprising was that Pittsburgh managed to rack up all those yards but couldn’t manage to win the game despite going into double overtime. Furthermore, the Steelers’ defense looked rather weak on the day as they gave up 374 total yards. All in all the Steelers weren’t great on the ground nor through the air. Considering who they’re facing this Sunday, they could be giving up a ton of yardage.

Players to Watch: Ben Roethlisberger (335 passing yards, 1 TD, 3 INT), James Conner (135 rushing yards, 2 TD, 1 F), and JuJu Smith-Schuster (119 receiving yards, 0 TD, 5 REC).
