Kansas City Chiefs

As aforementioned, the Chiefs are undefeated this season. Subsequently, they enter as the No. 1 team in the conference. Kansas City already has an AFC West victory to their name since they defeated the Chargers 38-28 in their season opener. Granted, another divisional triumph will certainly help the Chiefs cement themselves as the true leader of the West. Considering that Kansas city is 3-0 in their last 3 meetings against the Broncos, it stands to reason that they’ll come out on top this weekend despite playing on the road. The numbers each team sports also make it seem like this will be the case. Right now the Mahomes lead Chiefs are putting up a whopping 39.3 points per game. The Broncos on the other hand, are struggling to put up 20.3. While Denver does have the advantage on defense, seeing as they’re only giving up 23.3 to Kansas City’s 30.7, it’s doubtful that that will be enough to get the upset this weekend. Simply put, the Chiefs are too explosive on offense to be contained and Denver doesn’t have the weapons to keep up with their pace.

Players to Watch: Patrick Mahomes (896 passing yards, 13 TD, 0 INT), Kareem Hunt (168 rushing yards, 2 TD, 0 F), and Tyreek Hill (310 receiving yards, 3 TD, 14 REC).

Denver Broncos

The Broncos ride into this weekend’s action flashing a 2-1 record that ranks them 2nd in the conference. Despite coming off a loss, the Broncos can jump to No. 1 in the division with a win over Kansas City this weekend. Granted, the chips are certainly stacked against them but anything can happen in the NFL. If the Broncos are to win, they will need to run the ball and keep Mahomes off the field. If they can win the time of possession battle, Denver should have an opportunity to win this matchup. Luckily for them, the Chiefs are giving up a whopping 111.3 rushing yards per game. Unfortunately, Phillip Lindsay hasn’t exactly wowed us this season. Barring some miraculous turnaround, the Broncos will come up short this Sunday.

Players to Watch: Case Keenum (743 passing yards, 3 TD, 5 INT), Phillip Lindsay (198 rushing yards, 0 TD, 0 F), and Emmanuel Sanders (269 receiving yards, 1 TD, 19 REC).
