Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs turned in another successful season last year. Albeit, their 10-6 record in 2017 was a minor step down from the 12-4 record the franchise had delivered the previous year. However, since the Chiefs were eliminated forthright in the postseason each time, it’s safe to say that both seasons ended in disappointment. Nevertheless, Kansas City has the pieces in place to be one of the most dangerous teams in the AFC West. They will need however, to find a replacement for Alex Smith. Smith was let go during this past offseason and the Chiefs has several options to go through. Henne did alright in his 1st series of the preseason so he should be the starter as of now.

Players to Watch: Chad Henne (91 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT [2018 Preseason]), Kareem Hunt (1,327 passing yards, 8 TD, 1 F), and Tyreek Hill (1,183 receiving yards, 7 TD, 75 REC).

Atlanta Falcons

After losing to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, the Falcons new they had a dreary road ahead of them. Ultimately, the Falcons managed their case of the Super Bowl blues rather well. After all, they finished the year with a 10-6 record and managed to make the playoffs off a Wild Card berth. In the end, Atlanta’s playoff run would make it to all the way to the divisional round. There they would be eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl champions 10-15. Moving forward, the Falcons are hopeful that they can mount yet another playoffs push. They have the pieces, considering they’re one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL.

Players to Watch: Matt Ryan (4,095 passing yards, 20 TD, 12 INT), Devonta Freeman (865 rushing yards, 7 TD, 4 F), and Julio Jones (1,444 receiving yards, 3 TD, 88 REC).
