Indianapolis Colts vs. New York Jets – Sunday, October 14thWhen: 1:00 pm ET Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey TV: CBS Stream: CBS Sports, NFL Game Pass NFL Online Betting Odds:
Indianapolis ColtsAs aforementioned, the Colts are 1-4 so far this season. Unsurprisingly, this pegs them as the worst team in the AFC South. However, since the 3-2 Tennessee Titans currently lead the division, the Colts are one rebound away from challenging for the lead in the division. But what have we seen out of Indianapolis this season to suggest that this is possible? Not that much, since they’re a middle of the pack team or worse in every important statistical measure. Offensively they rank 15th in scoring but 23rd in total offense. And with the 29th worst rushing offense in the NFL, there’s a heap of pressure on Andre Luck to pull of majestic wins. So far this season, Luck has been putting up good numbers but is undoubtedly crippled by a defense that gives up 27.6 per game – the 27th worst average in the league. Players to Watch: Andrew Luck (1,491 passing yards, 12 TD, 5 INT), Jordan Wilkins (175 rushing yards, 0 TD, 0 F), and TY Hilton (294 receiving yards, 2 TD, 21 REC). New York JetsThe Jets fly into this weekend’s matchup sporting a 2-3 record that ranks them 3rd in the AFC East after picking up a massive 34-16 upset over the Broncos. It’s surprising to see New York run the score up on the Broncos, considering that Denver is supposed to have an elite defense. Combined with their 48-17 win over the Lions in Week 1 and it’s clear that this New York team can put up some good numbers. On top of that, they’re defense isn’t all that terrible, consistently delivering both sacks and turnovers. Bottom line is that if New York can work out a few kinks, they should be competitive in the division at the moment. Players to Watch: Sam Darnold (1,066 passing yards, 7 TD, 6 INT), Isaiah Crowell (390 rushing yards, 5 TD, 0 F), and Quincy Enuwa (278 receiving yards, 1 TD, 21 REC).
