Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Betting Favorites & Rodgers Future with the Pack

The 2018 online football betting season is but a couple months away. Naturally, online betting players are wondering which teams to back ahead of this year’s Super Bowl race. Our pick for this year’s action is to peg the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl betting favorites, who have undergone some convincing offseason changes. With a heap of coaching changes, the organization is ready to reinvent their identity. But with Aaron Rodgers turning 35 this December, will their title hopes be hindered by the aging quarterback? In truth, the opposite is the reality.
Aaron Rodgers Plans for the Future
“I’d love to play to 40” Aaron Rodgers told NBC’s Sports expert Peter King during an exclusive interview. “I just think that number means a lot. Obviously, Tom [Brady] is kind of rewriting the book. Brett [Favre] had a good season when he turned 40.”
Going by his own words, it looks like the Packers’ quarterback has already considered playing well past this year’s season. So even if Green Bay fails to get the job done shit season, they can still vie to bring the Vince Lombardi trophy home for the next 5 years. But the real question is, will Rodgers be able to maintain that level of play? It’s a downside he himself is already painfully aware of, in fact.
“My goal is to be able to move like I do or close to how I Do and still be able to do that at 40. Just because nobody’s been able to do that and still move around the same. Steve Young’s career was cut short in his late 30s. John [Elway], the same – he didn’t really move the same as when he was younger. So to be able to move the same way at 38, 39, 40 would be cool. That’s my aim.”
The Truth of the Business
All things considered, Rodgers has already solidified himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the league. While he mentions his mobility, it’s really his touchdown to interception ratio that sets him apart. Right now Rodgers boasts a brilliant 4.01 TD/INT ratio, which puts him leagues ahead of his nearest competition. Brady is second with 3.05 and Russell Wilson 3rd with 2.88. For comparison, Steve Young is highest on the list of retired quarterbacks with a 2.17 TD/INT ratio. So while Rodgers’ may be focused on his mobility, we’ll be more focused on that shiny ratio.
“But I think in my time there, I realize no one is above the team,” he said. “They can trade Brett Favre, Jordy Nelson, they can not re-sign a Charles Woodson or Julius Peppers. They make decisions that are in the best interest of the team. It could be me at some point. You have to be humble enough to realize that.”
Clearly, despite being who he is, Rodgers is humbly aware of the fact that his tenure with the franchise is not guaranteed. However, we’ll keep looking forward to watching Rodgers deliver his best online football performance for the Green and Gold. The only question that remains is, are the Packers Super Bowl favorites for next season?
Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Betting Favorites for 2018?
The Packers Super Bowl sports betting hopes hinge on one thing; their defense. If the organization is able to work out the kinks and deliver a capable defense, they should have no problems getting to the dance. However, if we see the same thing that we saw out of them defensively for the last 5 years, it’ll be practically impossible for Rodgers to lead them to a Super Bowl triumph. But with a new defensive coordinator, it’s looking like the Packers’ defense will finally be revamped.
