Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview, Sunday, September 24th

The way the Kansas City Chiefs opened the 2017 online NFL gambling season has forced many betting fans to jump on the Kansas City bandwagon. The Chiefs had the pleasure of facing the reigning Super Bowl champions in their 2017 debut and although the odds were ruling them out heavily, it was actually Kansas City that came out on top of the Patriots decisively, 42-27. The following week, the Chiefs would come out on top of the Philadelphia EaglesAndy Reid’s former team, 27-20. It wasn’t as decisive of a finish, but it allowed the Chiefs to remain undefeated if for just a week longer. This weekend Kansas City will face the Chargers. Can the low-ranking AFC West rivals knock off the top dog in the division?

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs come into this Sunday’s contest with an unblemished 2-0 record. Unfortunately for Kansas City, they just happen to be in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. Despite their strong start, the Chiefs are currently tied with the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders for the lead in the AFC West. With both the Raiders and Broncos facing weaker opponents this weekend, Kansas City cannot afford a loss against their divisional rivals if they are to maintain their lead atop the West.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, all signs point to an easy Kansas City win this Sunday. The Chargers have the league’s 26th worst run defense and considering that the Chiefs have Kareem Hunt in the backfield, football betting sportsbooks players can expect the Reid’s running game to have a field day this Sunday. Furthermore, if the Chiefs enjoy the run success that we’re expecting, they should have no problem developing the play-action and subsequently running up the score board with their passing game.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are the only 0-2 team in the AFC West, and subsequently the only team yet to win a game this season. A win against a team as dominant as the Chiefs would go a long way to boost the morale of a team that seems to shoot themselves in the foot week in and week out.

In their 2017 opener, Los Angeles faced the Denver Broncos and managed to hang in there despite the blaring differences between their defenses. In the end, the thing that kept the Chargers from winning was miscommunication on offense. Frankly, it seemed that Phillip Rivers was unfit to lead the team with the clock winding down. Maybe it was all on the quarterback, maybe it was poor preparation from the staff, but one thing is abundantly clear: the Chargers have plenty of online NFL gambling improvements to make.
