As the end of the season rolls around, online football betting players are doing all they can to get a leg up on this year’s NFL title game. The Patriots, given their dominance over the league the last 20 or so years, have opened as this year’s betting favorites – unsurprisingly. To better understand just New England’s chances of winning back to back Super Bowl, NFL sportsbooks took a look at how the Patriots’ offense matched up against the Eagles defense. It was a minor Super Bowl 52 betting preview, but a much needed one. But now it’s time to see how well the Eagles offense matches up against the Patriots’ defense. Let’s run down some pertinent info for this Sunday’s game before looking over the Eagles Super Bowl betting chance.
Super Bowl LII – Philadelphia vs. New England – Sun., Feb. 4th

New England Patriots -4 ½ (-110) 48 (-115) -200
As aforementioned, the Pats are pegged as a -200 favorite on the money line. Surprisingly, the line hasn’t moved much throughout the week, which shows that most bettors agree with sportsbooks original prediction. But enough about the odds, let’s check out what we can expect from the Eagles’ offense this Super Bowl weekend.
Eagles’ Super Bowl Betting Analysis (Offense)
Any online football betting player who watched the Eagles compete during the regular season knows that Philly wields one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Not only that, the Eagles were able to deliver a level of consistency that’s seldom seen in professional football. Integral to the Eagles’ offensive success was their top ranked running game. In fact, at the end of the regular season, Philadelphia finished with the league’s 3rd best running game.
This is arguably the most important factor for Philadelphia to exploit this weekend. Not only because the Pats’ ranked 20th in the NFL against the run, but because of their current situation at quarterback. As we all know, the Eagles will be contending with backup Nick Foles under center this Sunday. Naturally, this raises some questions about Philly’s offense. Questions that can easily be resolved with a great running performance this Sunday.
Since the Pats struggled so severely against the run this season, players can expect them to give up a good chunk of yardage on the ground this Sunday. If Philly can establish a great running game early on, the Eagles should be able to enjoy some modest success through the air off of the play action.
The next question is whether or not Foles will be able to deliver once that opportunity arises. From what we’ve seen out of Foles this postseason, there’s no reason to expect the backup to fail. Simply put, Foles is sitting on 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, a superb 77.8% completion percentage and a brilliant 122.1 passer rating.
Eagles’ Super Bowl Betting Conclusion
All things considered, the Eagles should enjoy a good dose of offensive success this Sunday. But in order to win the game, the Birds’ defense will need to come up big. There’s no doubt that the Eagles will get a few stops this Sunday, they’re too good not to. What is uncertain is whether or not the Birds will be able to get those stops in the 4th quarter. Players looking to rack up a nice 2 team teaser line can consider backing the Eagles straight up.
