What Do the Eagles have to Do to Beat Patriots Super Bowl Betting Weekend?Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
Now that Friday has rolled around, online NFL betting players are one step closer to predicting Super Bowl LII. No doubt every top sportsbook player in the nation is expecting a thrilling finale to this year’s NFL betting season. Nevertheless, it’s hard to imagine Super Bowl LII topping the record breaking spectacle we witnessed last season. Notwithstanding those doubts, both the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots will take center stage this Sunday to determine who the best team in the NFL truly is. Let’s take a look at what the sports parlay odds have to say about this Patriots Super Bowl betting chances.

Underdog Philadelphia Eagles
While top sportsbooks are ruling against the Eagles, Philadelphia actually has a clear road to victory. In short, the Birds Super Bowl success will simply come down to how well they can run the ball this Sunday. Luckily for the Eagles, Philadelphia is coming off a year in which they steamrolled their competition on the ground. In addition, New England wasn’t all that great against the run this season, which further plays into the Eagles hands. Specifically, the Birds wielded the league’s 3rd best running offense, with a total of 132.2 earned on the ground in each game. On the other hand, the Patriots ranked 20th in the NFL in stopping the run, allowing a whopping 114.8 rushing yards in each matchup.
Despite giving up huge chunks of yard in each game, the Pats’ defense ranked 5th in the NFL in points allowed. Therefore, it won’t be enough for Philly to just run the ball: the Eagles need to score as well. However, we saw last season that scoring isn’t enough to beat Brady in the Super Bowl. So, in order to put the nail in the coffin, the Eagles need to take massive amounts of time off the clock with each possession. If they can manage that, Philly might just be able to pull off the impossible and overcome the Patriots Super Bowl betting favoritism.
New England Patriots Super Bowl Betting Prowess
The key to the Pats’ victory is essentially the same; long sustained drives to keep your opponent on the sideline. But what truly sets New England apart from the Eagles is the fact that the club has more Super Bowl experience than any other franchise in the history of the sport. This experience allows Bill Belichick and the Pats to remain calm and collected under any situation. Whether they be down by 3 or 21, New England knows they have a chance to win the game. A team with that level of confidence is dangerous as all hell.
In the end, it might not matter if the Eagles run the ball well, if they score a bunch of points in the 1st half, or even if the force a flurry of turnovers. New England will find a way to adapt and to ultimately overcome. That said, it should be mentioned that the line on the Pats has dropped a bit this week. Not by much, but it’s clear that some fans are starting to like Philadelphia’s chances this online NFL betting weekend.
