Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Detroit Lions may have started the 2018 NFL betting online season with a 0-2 record under new head coach Matt Patricia. However, the Lions delivered one of the most dominant rebounds this past Sunday night. Facing the New England Patriots at home, most legal betting players had the Pats coming out on top decisively. After all, a 2-0 team was facing a 0-2 one. Nevertheless, Patricia was able to use his inside knowledge of the Patriots’ organization to lead Detroit to a dominant 26-10 upset win over New England. Will Patricia & Co. be able to carry that momentum into this weekend’s Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys matchup? Let’s take a look at the NFL sportsbook odds to find out.

Detroit Lions

The Lions are 1-2 so far this season. Considering how wide open the NFC North is, Detroit has plenty of time to bounce back and make a push for the lead in the division. Right now the 2-1 Bears lead the Pack followed by the Vikings and Packers, both of whom are sitting at 1-1-1 this season. Clearly, it’s no understatement to say that the division lacks a true leader. And while Detroit might not have racked up enough wins this season to fill that void, they have the chance to improve on their record by facing a struggling Dallas team this weekend. Looking over the numbers, it’s clear this is an interesting matchup. The Lions offense is putting up 23.3 per game, which is significantly higher than the 13.7 Dallas earns. However, the Cowboys take the cake defensively as they only give up a slim 17.7 per game while Detroit gives up a whopping 29.3. With those numbers in mind, it’s clear turnovers will be the deciding factor this Sunday.

Players to Watch: Matt Stafford (895 passing yards, 6 TD, 5 INT), Kerryon Johnson (161 rushing yards, 0 TD, 0 F), and Golden Tate (257 receiving yards, 1 TD, 20 REC).

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have slumped their way to a 1-2 record so far this season. They kicked the year off with a 16-8 loss to the Carolina Panthers on the road. However, the Cowboys were able to bounce back the following week against the New York Giants 20-13. Unfortunately for Dallas, the Cowboys would taste defeat once again this past weekend, conceding a 24-13 road loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Fortunately for the franchise no team in the NFC East is off to a 3-0 start. With that in mind, the Cowboys can still bounce back and be a threat in the division. But we really haven’t seen much out of Dallas to suggest that a bounce back is in their future. The offense is in shambles and the defense is far from being elite.

Players to Watch: Dak Prescott (498 passing yards, 2 TD, 2 INT), Ezekiel Elliott (274 rushing yards, 2 TD, 1 F), and Cole Beasley (132 receiving yards, 0 TD, 12 REC).
