Dallas Cowboys
Dallas kicked the season off with a 16-8 road loss to the Carolina Panthers. All things considered, the offense was to blame for the loss. After all, the Cowboys defense was able to hold Cam Newton and the Panthers to just 16 points on the day. But even though the offense stuttered in their debut, they managed to come through this past weekend. In Week 2, the Cowboys hosted NFC East rivals the New York Giants. In that matchup, Dallas managed to come out on top 20-13. Defense once again came up big for the Cowboys as they managed to sack Eli Manning 6 times for a whopping 59 yards. And even though Prescott didn’t have a massive day, he did great at managing the game. Ultimately Prescott is a better game manager than being a captain comeback. With that in mind, it’s clear this Sunday’s path to victory lies in managing the Seahawks.
Players to Watch: Dak Prescott (330 passing yards, 1 TD, 0 INT), Ezekiel Elliott (147 rushing yards, 2 TD, 0 F), and Cole Beasley (86 receiving yards, 0 TD, 9 REC).
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle is winless so far into the season. Over the last couple of years, a drama has been brooding in the Seahawks locker. Well, had been brooding. The controversy was sparked by Carroll’s decision to throw the football on the yard line in the Super Bowl. Instead of coming away with some easy points, Russell Wilson managed to turn the ball over. Since then, Seattle’s defense has taken up issue with what they perceived to be an incompetent Wilson. But instead of challenging his quarterback, who was prone to turning the ball over, rumor has it that Carroll elected to coddle his QB. Naturally, this didn’t’ sit well with the likes of Richard Sherman, who is now a San Francisco 49er. So, the fallout has seen the once terrific Seattle defense fall apart with most of their stars departing. And on offense, we’re seeing Wilson make one game costing mistake after another. And without a great defense to back him up, it’s no surprise that Seattle is 0-2.
Players to Watch: Russell Wilson (524 passing yards, 5 TD, 3 INT), Chris Carson (75 rushing yards, 0 TD, 1 F), and Will Dissly (147 receiving yards, 2 TD, 6 REC).
