The Cowboys were hoping that 2017 would be the year their two sensational rookies, Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott, led them to a playoff win. However, the opposite turned out to be true as Elliott struggled all season long and Prescott underachieved to say the least. These troubles culminated in a 9-7 record for the Cowboys, which saw them finish 2nd in the NFC East. Notwithstanding that ranking, the Cowboys failed to qualify for the postseason. Now the club is hoping that the offseason can help them bring this team together. Last year saw some controversy broil in the locker room due to Jerry Jone’s stance on the anthem protests. That shouldn’t be a problem this year, considering the league’s new policy.
Players to Watch: Dak Prescott (3,324 passing yards, 22 TD, 13 INT), Ezekiel Elliott (983 rushing yards, 7 TD, 1 F), and Terrance Williams (568 receiving yards, 0 TD, 53 REC).
The Panthers turned in an 11-5 record last season to finish 2nd in the NFC South. The NFC South was extremely tough last season, which is evident by the fact that the division gave birth to three playoff contenders last season. Heading into this year’s action, online NFL betting players are uncertain what to expect. The problem with Carolina is that they just aren’t as consistent as they need to be. This applies doubly to Cam Newton, who has a ton of ups and downs. Not to mention the fact that he takes more hits than he needs to.
Players to Watch: Cam Newton (3,302 passing yards, 22 TD, 16 INT), Jonathan Stewart (680 rushing yards, 6 TD, 6 F), and Devin Funchess (840 receiving yards, 8 TD, 63 REC).
