Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals turned in a 6-10 record last season that saw them finish dead last in the AFC North. However, the most important thing to transpire from last year’s season was Marvin Lewis getting fired. Lewis had been with the Bengals since 2003 but was never able to lead the franchise to any sort of postseason success. Now the Bengals are ready to enter the Zac Taylor era, who is making his debut as an NFL head coach. Taylor has been coaching football since 2008 when he joined Texas A&M and has been in the NFL since 2012. All in all most of Taylor’s experience comes as a quarterback coach or an offensive coordinator. It’ll be interesting to see what he’s able to put together with Dalton and the rest of Cincinnati’s offense.
Players to Watch: Andy Dalton (2,566 passing yards, 21 TD, 11 INT), Joe Mixon (1,186 rushing yards, 8 TD, 0 F), and Tyler Boyd (1,028 receiving yards, 7 TD, 76 REC).
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks flew to a 10-6 record last season that saw them finish 2nd in the NFC West behind the Los Angeles Rams. Despite not winning the division, Seattle still qualified for a Wild Card berth into the postseason. However, it wouldn’t be for much as Dallas promptly eliminated them in the Wild Card round 22-24. Now Seattle has to find a way to qualify for the playoffs in one of the tougher divisions in the NFC. Although there’s no telling what kind of fight the Niners and Cardinals will put up in the divisional race, getting past the Los Angeles Rams is another fight entirely.
Players to Watch: Russell Wilson (3,448 passing yards, 35 TD, 7 INT), Chris Carson (1,151 rushing yards, 9 TD, 3 F), and Tyler Lockett (618 receiving yards, 10 TD, 57 REC).
