Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals pounce into this weekend’s action sporting a 2-1 record that currently ties them with the Baltimore Ravens for the best team in the AFC North. Technically the Bengals have a leg up over Baltimore in the divisional race since they beat the Ravens 34-23 in Week 2. That victory marked Cincinnati’s second straight win of the season after they opened the year with a 34-23 routing of the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately the Bengals weren’t able to keep their 34-23 momentum as they fell short against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 21-31. Now Cincy looks to bounce back against an Atlanta team that has lost its fair share of battles. However, the Falcons do have one win on the season and it just happens to be against the only team to defeat the Bengals this season. Nevertheless, we should anticipate a very even matchup given that the Bengals are 2-3 in their last 5 matchups against the Falcons.

Players to Watch: Andy Dalton (860 passing yards, 8 TD, 5 INT), Joe Mixon (179 rushing yards, 1 TD, 4.7 AVG), and Tyler Boyd (249 passing yards, 2 TD, 15 REC).

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons played on opening night, losing 18-12 to the reigning Super Bowl champions. Afterwards, the Falcons bounced back with a 31-24 win over the Carolina Panthers. Unfortunately, Atlanta wasn’t able to carry that momentum into their Week 3 matchup, losing a shootout against New Orleans 43-37. After that loss, Atlanta finds themselves 1-2 at the bottom of a loaded NFC South. An NFC South that just happens to have three 2-1 teams. With that in mind, it’s clear Atlanta cannot afford to lose this weekend. Luckily they’re playing at home against a Bengals team that is very capable of making mistakes.

Players to Watch: Matt Ryan (897 passing yards, 7 TD, 2 INT), Tevin Coleman (159 rushing yards, 1 TD, 0 F), and Julio Jones (329 receiving yards, 0 TD, 20 REC).
