Chiefs Need An Online NFL Betting Rebound this Thursday
Posted by: Mike Davis
The Kansas City Chiefs’ win streak lasted a total of 5 weeks. This past online NFL betting weekend, Kansas City tasted defeat for the first time this season, at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were massive underdogs in that contest but the team had been dealing with turmoil for so long that they dug down deep and found the inner strength to triumph over this AFC titan. Since Kansas City had gone undefeated for nearly the 1st half of the season, that lone loss didn’t set them back that far. But the Chiefs will need to get back on the horse this Sunday as they travel to Oakland to take on their AFC West rivals. Let’s see what kind of contest NFL sportsbooks are predicting for this upcoming Thursday night.

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs make their way into this Week 7 matchup sporting a 5-1 record that gives the franchise the lead in the AFC West. The Denver Broncos are the biggest threat the Chiefs currently face in the division, with Denver sporting a 3-2 record. As aforementioned, the Chiefs are coming off a 19-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and will be looking to get back into the win column this Thursday. Specifically, the Chiefs will be looking to get their running game back on track after they were held to a pathetic 28 rushing yards this past online NFL betting Sunday.
After that pitiful performance on the ground this past Saturday, the Chiefs are now ranked 4th in the NFL in terms of running the football. Kansas City managed to remain so well-ranked due to the success they enjoyed early on, but this Sunday’s results raises some daring questions. The Steelers haven’t been that great against the run all season long. How could a bottom-ranking run defense turn around and deliver such a dominant performance? Ultimately, this does more to take away from Kansas City than it adds to the Steelers.
The Oakland Raiders were happy to get their quarterback this past Sunday, but it’s clear that Carr is not at the peak of his game. Last season, players betting NFL online were treated to a masterful performance, often a 4th quarter comeback, week in and week out by Oakland’s own quarterback. This season, Carr has struggled to find his stride and the biggest headline involving him came when the quarterback went down with an injury. Now back in the starting lineup, it’s clear by looking at the quarterbacks numbers that Carr might be seeing ghosts out there on the gridiron. In other words, an unhealthy dose of fear is keeping the Black and Silver’s quarterback from playing at his potential.
Carr made his return this past Sunday as the Raiders took on the 1-4 Chargers. Facing a 1-4 team is the best matchup you could ask for when returning from an injury, but Carr failed to capitalize. The Raiders would lose 17-16 behind Carr’s 171 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions and meager 67.5 passer rating. Those numbers are far from elite and barring a miracle, it’s starting to look like Oakland’s season is going down the drain.
