Chicago Bears vs. Arizona Cardinals NFL Betting Preview

The Chicago Bears are turning into a bit of an online NFL betting mystery. They opened up their season with a 24-23 road loss to the Green Bay Packers in a divisional matchup that they should have won. And this past Monday night, the Bears trampled the Seattle Seahawks 24-17. So the question is, are the Bears turning into a good team? Or are the Seahawks just that bad? We might get an inkling to this question in this Sunday’s Chicago Bears vs. Arizona Cardinals matchup. What kind of turnout are the sportsbook odds predicting?

Arizona Cardinals +5½ (-115)          38 (-110)         +207

Chicago Bears

The Bears charge into this NFC pairing sporting a 1-1 record that ranks them 3rd in the NFC. Right now the division is heralded by the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers – both of whom share a 1-0-1 record. With that in mind, it’s clear the Bears can jump right back into the mix of things with a win over the Cardinals this weekend. Looking over the numbers, the Bears shouldn’t have too hard of a time coming out on top this Sunday. Right now the Cardinals are averaging just 3 points per matchup, giving them the worst scoring offense in the league. Considering the Bears have Khalil Mack, it’s safe to assume that Arizona will not be having a successful offensive day this weekend.  Ultimately it’s up to Trubisky to manage this matchup and get the Bears second win of the season.

Players to Watch: Mitchell Trubisky (371 passing yards, 2 TD, 2 INT), Jordan Howard (117 rushing yards, 0 TD, 0 F), and Allen Robinson (144 receiving yards, 0 TD, 14 REC).

Arizona Cardinals

The Cards are winless so far this season and look like a rather pitiful team. It’s somewhat humorous that Arizona brought in Sam Bradford thinking he could build on the success he enjoyed in Minnesota. With the Vikings, Bradford had a terrific defense behind him and a plethora of offensive weapons. And while Arizona has David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, it doesn’t have a foreboding defense. Furthermore, Johnson is coming off an injury and hasn’t been able to return to his previous pace. Right now he’s averaging 3.9 per carry but will need to get that figure well over 4.0 per carry to give Arizona a chance of finishing 8-8 in 2018. As for this weekend’s matchup, there’s really no reason to back Arizona.

Players to Watch: Sam Bradford (243 passing yards, 0 TD, 2 INT), David Johnson (85 rushing yards, 1 TD, 0 F), and Larry Fitzgerald (104 receiving yards, 0 TD, 10 REC).
