Carr-less Raiders Prone to Receiver Online Football Betting Upset

The Baltimore Ravens were hoping for a turnaround in 2017. Instead, they are one of this season’s biggest online football betting disappointments. The Ravens finished the 2016 season with an 8-8 record that gave the franchise hope for the future. But the way they’ve performed so far this season, losing 44-7 to the Jaguars overseas before falling short against their divisional rivals, has left many people writing off this year’s Baltimore squad. Despite the fact that this is the same coach and quarterback that won the Super Bowl a few years back.
This Sunday, the Ravens will have an opportunity to convince online sportsbook players that they still have a shot of making the playoffs, if not winning the division. Baltimore will have to face off against the Oakland Raiders, a playoff caliber team that has been struggling as of late. The Raiders’ recent woes may or may not play into Baltimore’s hands. On one hand, if Oakland’s struggles continue, the Ravens can take advantage of the situation and snap their current losing streak. On the other, the Raiders could come into this game ticked off and with a chip on their shoulder. Let’s see what the online football betting odds have to say about it.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Oakland Raiders – Sunday, October 8th
When: 4:05 pm ET
Where: Oakland Alameda Coliseum, Oakland, California
Stream: CBS Sports, NFL Game Pass
Online Football Betting Odds:
Baltimore Ravens +2 (-105) 40 (-110)
Oakland Raiders -2 (-115) 40 (-110)
On top of injuries, the Ravens have to contend with a roster full of disheartened spirits. This past weekend, Baltimore had an opportunity to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in order to take the lead in the division. Instead, the Ravens failed to show up, losing in decisive fashion 26-9. With that loss, the Ravens have now fallen to 2-2 on the season, which ranks them 2nd in the division. It’s still early to call this team a failure, but it’s hard to imagine them actually turning this thing around. Partially because Joe Flacco is not a top-5 quarterback known for turning this around. Heading into this weekend’s contest, Baltimore’s quarterback is sitting on 4 touchdowns to a whopping 6 interceptions on the season. Furthermore, Flacco has posted a 65.0 passer rating through 4 games. You’re not going to be winning many games with those kind of figures.
The Raiders are in the same boat as Baltimore. Oakland had players who bet NFL online convinced that they were going to be a threat in the West. At 2-2, the Raiders are having a hard time measuring up against the undefeated Chiefs. The Raiders come into this contest riding a 2-game losing streak that is causing some concerns for their fans. Their latest woe could be a nail in the coffin however. Oakland’s season was cut short last year due to starting quarterback Derek Carr suffering a back injury. Considering this, fans might want to take Baltimore straight up this weekend.
