Buffalo Bills
The Bills are coming off a 9-7 season that saw them place 2nd in the AFC East. Despite not winning the division, the Bills still qualified for postseason play via a Wild Card. The Bills were thrilled because they hadn’t qualified for the playoffs in quite a long time. Notwithstanding that hype, Buffalo ended up losing in the Wild Card round to the Jacksonville Jaguars 3-10. Nevertheless, the franchise is still hopeful that they can build on last year’s success. That will start in Week 1 when they try to beat the Ravens on the road. Baltimore is coming off a rough season and there’s no telling how they will fare in Week 1. Some bettors might want to take Flacco over Taylor, but, going off of last years’ success, there’s really no question that the Bills are the better all-around team.
Players to Watch: Tyrod Taylor (2799 passing yards, 14 TD, 4 INT), LeSean McCoy (1138 rushing yards, 6 TD, 3 F), and Charles Clay (558 receiving yards, 2 TD, 49 REC).
Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore turned in a 9-7 record last season to finish 2nd in the AFC North. Unlike the Bills, the Ravens’ second place finish was not good enough to get them a Wild Card berth. All in all that marks 3-straight season that Baltimore has failed to make the playoffs. While John Harbaugh isn’t exactly on the hot season, he’ll need to deliver some good results this upcoming season lest risk being placed on it.
Players to Watch: Joe Flacco (3141 passing yards, 18 TD, 13 INT), Alex Collins (973 rushing yards, 6 TD, 2 F), and Mike Wallace (748 receiving yards, 4 TD, 52 REC).
