Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints – Sunday, September 9th
When: 1:00 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
Stream: Fox Sports Go, NFL Game Pass
NFL Sports Betting Odds:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs turned in a rather disappointing 5-11 record last season that saw them finish dead last in the NFC South. With three teams from the NFC South making the playoffs, it’s safes to say that Tampa Bay was the odd man out last season. Most of the Bucs problems’ stemmed from a poor offense that failed to consistently score points. Ultimately there’s no guarantee that Winston will be lining up under center come September.
Players to Watch: Jameis Winston (3,504 passing yards, 19 TD, 11 INT), Peyton Barber (423 rushing yards, 3 TD, 1 F), Mike Evans (1,001 receiving yards, 5 TD, 71 REC).
New Orleans Saints
Coming off a year in which they won the division, the Saints are thrilled to face an NFC South opponent right from the start. All in all New Orleans finished last year’s season with an 11-5 record that opened the door to the NFL postseason. There New Orleans would face the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card round. Although the Panthers were anxious to avenge their regular season losses to the Saints, they ended up falling short to Drew Brees once again. But the ride wouldn’t last much longer as the Saints were eliminated in the divisional round by the Minnesota Vikings. Now the Saints are pegged as one of this year’s favorites to win the NFC South.
Players to Watch: Drew Brees (4,334 passing yards, 23 TD, 8 INT), Mark Ingram (1,124 rushing yards, 12 TD, 2 F), and Michael Thomas (1,245 receiving yards, 5 TD, 104 REC).
