Owing to his success as head coach of Arizona does Bruce Arians bring credibility to Tampa Bay. When he was announced as head coach of Tampa Bay Arians was labeled a potential savior. Arians may be wondering why he came out of retirement after last week’s opening day loss to San Francisco. Namely trouble making quarterback Jameis Winston is the ultimate coaching challenge. Winston was no asset for betting on NFL games last week in the Buccaneers loss. Carolina head coach Ron Rivera began the season on a hot seat. And week one’s loss has made it even hotter.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs. Carolina Panthers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last week the Buccaneers lost to San Francisco 31-17 as 1-point home chalks. Tampa Bay actually outgained the 49ers but committed four turnovers. In particular, Jameis Winston was terrible. The Bucs quarterback threw three interceptions that proved to be the difference in the outcome. Ronald Jones was the best Tampa Bay offensive performer with 75 yards rushing. Specifically, Winston has proven to be more trouble than he’s worth dating back to his college days at Florida State. While at FSU he took the program down after a national championship season in which coaches ignored his antics.

Meanwhile, the Panthers lost to the Los Angeles Rams 30-27 as 1.5-point home dogs. Christian McCaffrey was the hero for the Panthers with 128 yards rushing and 81 yards receiving with two touchdowns in the game. Carolina’s defense did a decent job of containing Jared Goff and the Rams offense. To illuminate Goff threw for only 186 yards and a touchdown. Overall yardage was even between the teams. But Carolina turned the ball over three times.
