Browns against Jets NFL Week 2 Betting Picks and Odds
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
At the beginning of the season, no team got more love and hype than the Cleveland Browns. And for that matter, no quarterback was more highly touted than Baker Mayfield. Based on a few meaningless wins at the end of 2018 were the Browns touted as the next new thing. All of which makes their week one NFL betting flop against Tennessee tough to take for a lot of gamblers that should have known better. By contrast, the Jets are the Jets. New York flirted with opening day success before reverting back to the losers that they always were.
Cleveland Browns Vs. New York Jets
First-week results were quite sobering for Browns fans. Tennessee lit the Browns up in 43-13 win as 5.5 road dogs. Indeed, the wrong team was favored in this one. Titans quarterback Marcos Mariota clearly bested the highly touted Mayfield in the victory. Mariota passed for 248 yards and three touchdowns. By contrast, Mayfield threw three interceptions and showed the lack of maturity that has concerned more astute observers. Head coach Freddie Kitchens got the gig because of how well Mayfield and the offense performed last year. Overall it could not have been a worse start for quarterback and coach.
Players to Watch: QB Baker Mayfield (65.8%, 285 YDS, 7.5 YPC, 1 TD, 3 INT, 64.0 RTG), RB Nick Chubb (17 RSH, 75 YDS, 4.4 YPC, 0 TD, 3 REC, 10 YDS, 3.3 YPC, 0 TD), WR Odell Beckham Jr (7 REC, 71 YDS, 10.1 YPC, 0 TD), WR Jarvis Landry (4 REC, 67 YDS, 16.8 YPC, 0 TD), TE David Njoku (4 REC, 37 YDS, 1 TD, 9.3 YPC)
New York Jets
At the same time Jets, head coach Adam Gase suffered a 17-16 loss to Buffalo in his home debut at MetLife Stadium. Of great concern was that New York failed to hold a 16-3 fourth-quarter lead. The loss was a reminder of how Gase failed as head coach of the Dolphins. Additionally, the constant front office turmoil of the Jets has not helped. Quarterback Sam Darnold was pedestrian but did avoid interceptions. Specifically, the Jets ground attack did not contribute much to the cause. Defensively, there were signs for potential hope for the Jets.
Players to Watch: QB Sam Darnold (68.3%, 175 YDS, 4.3 AVG, 1 TD, 0 INT, 84.9 RTG), RB Le’Veon Bell (17 RSH, 60 YDS, 3.5 YPC, 6 REC, 42 YDS, 5.3 YPC, 1 TD), WR Jamison Crowder (14 REC, 99 YDS, 7.1 YPC, 0 TD)

Cleveland Browns vs. New York Jets Betting Picks
On this occasion, the Jets get a second chance at home against a discredited Browns team. While they failed to finish the Jets still were more impressive than The Browns in week one. Cleveland does not look ready to be road chalk with the Odds.
Score Prediction: New York Jets 27, Cleveland Browns 24
