Bengals Pegged as Massive Football Betting Underdogs vs. Jags

The 2017 football betting season continues this week as sports wagering sites prepare for Week 9’s thrilling action. Past the season’s halfway point, the playoff picture is really starting to take shape as NFL bookmakers have a better idea of which teams to back each Sunday. This means that in most NFL betting matches, bettors can either back the potential playoff contender or stick with the upset pick. What will NFL bettors have to say about this weekend’s contest between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals march into this weekend’s contest sporting a 3-4 record that ranks them 3rd in the AFC North. Cincinnati got off to an awful start in 2017, losing their first three games of the season, with their first two being blowouts. After that poor start, Cincy decided to make a change at the offensive coordinator position and it has worked out for them, since they’ve posted a 3-1 record following their 0-3 start. However, it might be a little too late for the Bengals to turn this season around and win the AFC North, especially given the type of season the division-leading Pittsburgh Steelers have been having. With Pittsburgh sitting at 6-2, the Bengals will need a football betting miracle to catch the Black and Gold. The Bengals are coming off a 24-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts. While Cincinnati pulled off the win, that game shouldn’t have never been that close and there’s no question that the fact that it was has influenced bookmakers to side with the Jags on this one.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars pounce into this Week 10 matchup sporting a 4-3 record that ranks the franchise 1st in the AFC South. The Jags have picked up wins over some pretty good teams so far this season, beating the Houston Texans and the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road and also picking up a 44-7 blowout win over the Baltimore Ravens overseas. However, the Jags have also lost a handful of games that keep NFL betting players from grouping them with the NFL’s elite. Specifically, Jacksonville has suffered losses against the Titans, Jets, and Rams this season. Luckily for Jacksonville, the AFC South is very much up for grabs since they are tied with the 4-3 Tennessee Titans for the lead in the division. It would be interesting to see the jags win the South, but they’ll need a win this Sunday to get it done. Jacksonville is coming off a 27-0 beating of the Indianapolis Colts and it looks like NFL bookmakers are expecting the Jags to rack up a win streak this weekend.

The Jags have a clear-cut advantage on the ground this Sunday. Jacksonville ranks No. 1 in pro football in running the ball with an average of 169 rushing yards gained per game. This weekend, they’ll be going up against the NFL’s 18th worst run defense. With that in mind, fans can expect Jacksonville to deliver another lopsided beating come Sunday.
