Chicago Bears vs. Denver Broncos NFL Week 2 Betting Preview

Chicago Bears Vs. Denver Broncos NFL betting odds, picks and game preview

At the onset of the season, there were concerns about the Bears resembling a stock that went too high too fast.  Specifically, Chicago went from worst to first in the NFC North in 2018.  Opening Night results confirmed the Bears potential weaknesses on offense.  Quarterback Mitchell Trubinsky was off the mark all night in a Pro football betting home loss to the Packers.  Former Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was missing in action.  Concurrently he was beginning his head coaching career with a Denver loss at Oakland.  Fangio will have his Mile High home debut against his old team Sunday.

Chicago Bears

The first-week action was a discombobulated 10-3 Bears home loss to the Packers. Offensively Chicago was a mess all night. Consider the Bears ran for only 46 yards and 15 carries. Trubinsky had one of the most frustrating performances of his career. Head coach Matt Nagy was hired for his offensive prowess. And last year that investment paid off with a playoff spot. If there was a positive on the evening it was that the Bears defense held Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay in check. Overall the offense should only get better after that week one stink bomb.

Players to Watch: QB Mitchell Trubinsky (57% COMP, 228 YDS, 5.1 AVG, 0 TD, 1 INT, 62.1 RTG), RB Mike Davis (5 ATT, 19 YDS, 3.8 YPC, 0 TD, 6 REC, 17 YDS, 2.8 YPC, 0 TD), RB David Montgomery (6 RSH, 18 YDS, 3.0 YPC, 0 TD) WR Allen Robinson (7 REC, 102 YDS, 14.6 YPC, 0 TD), RB Tarik Cohen (8 REC, 49 YDS, 4.9 YPC, 0 TD)

Denver Broncos

In view of a 24-16 loss at Oakland as 3-point favorites, it was not a happy opener for the Broncos. Denver moved the ball at times in the loss but was not able to finish drives. New quarterback Joe Flacco avoided interceptions in a decent performance. However, when a play was needed to be made nobody delivered. Flacco’s arrival from Baltimore offered him a second chance for his career. But he arrives with depleted credibility after several mediocre years cost him his job. Specifically, Oakland was picked for last in the AFC West which makes the loss alarming.

Players to Watch: QB Joe Flacco (67% COMP, 268 YDS, 8.6 AVG, 1 TD, 105.3 RTG), RB Royce Freeman (10 RSH, 56 YDS, 5.6 YPC, 0 TD), RB Phillip Lindsay (11 RSH, 43 YDS, 3.9 YPC, 0 TD, 4 REC, 23 YDS, 5,5 YPC, 0 TD), WR Courtland Sutton (7 REC, 120 YDS, 17.1 YPC, 0 TD), WR Emmanuel Saunders (5 REC, 86 YDS, 17.2 YPC, 1 TD)

Chicago Bears vs. Denver Broncos Betting Picks

In this situation, both teams will be eager to avoid 0-2 starts. Denver could be a potentially dangerous sport betting home dog. Likewise laying points with the Bears looks dicey after last week.
