Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons fly into this weekend’s action sporting a 1-3 record that ranks them dead last in the NFC South. Right now the South is heralded by the New Orleans Saints, who are 3-1 this season. Clearly the Falcons need a rebound in order to avoid losing too much ground in the divisional race. It’s going to be a battle for the South this season and Atlanta needs all the help they can get. And while their 1-3 record is disheartening, you also have to look at the level of competition they’ve faced. Atlanta kicked the year off by facing the Eagles on the road, which resulted in an 18-12 loss. Afterwards, the club picked up its first win of the season by beating the Panthers 31-24 at home. However, that pick me up would be followed by back-to-tack losses to the Saints and Bengals. Although the Falcons were competitive in both of those matchups, their defense paved the way to some tough losses. Now the Falcons look to bounce back by containing the Steelers’ dynamic offense. Will they be successful? The football betting online odds don’t seem to think so.

Players to Watch: Matt Ryan (1,316 passing yards, 10 TD, 2 INT), Tevin Coleman (210 rushing yards, 1 TD, 1 F), and Julio Jones (502 receiving yards, 0 TD, 29 REC).

Pittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers march into this weekend’s action flashing a weak 1-2-1 record. All in all, the Steelers have been vastly underperforming this season. They kicked the year off with a 21-21 tie against a team that had gone 0-16 the previous season. In Week 2, the Steelers lost a shootout against the Chiefs 42-37. Week 3 saw Pittsburgh deliver a much needed rebound by defeating the Bucs 30-27 on the road. Unfortunately for the Black and Gold, that rebound wouldn’t last too long. In fact, the Ravens would kick them in their teeth the following week 26-14. That divisional loss now ranks Pittsburgh dead last in the division. This team has too much talent to justify their current position. Barring some turnaround, we might see Mike Tomlin get upended in Pittsburgh at the end of the season.

Players to Watch: Ben Roethlisberger (1,414 passing yards, 8 TD, 5 INT), James Conner (232 rushing yards, 3 TD, 1 F), and JuJu Smith-Schuster (416 receiving yards, 1 TD, 0 F).
