Atlanta Falcons vs. Los Angeles Rams NFL Football Betting Preview
Before the 2017 football betting regular season kicked off, many sportsbook players were picking the Atlanta Falcons to win the NFC South. Furthermore, most NFL bettors were picking Atlanta to repeat in the NFC. However, halfway through the season, many NFL betting players felt that the Falcons were contending with a classic case of the Super Bowl Blues, and would be unfit to pick up that mantle. The Falcons certainly fell short in the divisional race, but Atlanta was able to snag up a Wild Card berth in the end. This weekend, Matt Ryan & Co. will try their luck against the Los Angeles Rams – one of the year’s biggest surprises. What kind of odds is Matt Ryan facing in this Atlanta Falcons vs. Los Angeles Rams Wild Card match?

The Falcons turned in a very successful 10-6 record this season. Nevertheless, despite finding such eye-raising success, Atlanta would go on to finish 3rd in the division. Much to everyone’s surprise, the NFC South ended up being one of the most competitive divisions in the league. Once it was all over, the 11-5 New Orleans Saints took the title while the 11-5 Panthers finished 2nd overall. Ultimately the Falcons are just happy to be in the playoff cut, facing an opportunity to avenge last year’s loss in the Super Bowl. The Falcons finished the year with a 3-2 record in their final 5 games of the year and will be looking to keep the good times rolling.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams, who finished the 2016 season with a 4-12 record, were one of 2017’s biggest turnarounds. Los Angeles brought in Sean McVay during the offseason, the NFL’s youngest head coach. And while some originally questioned McVay’s lack of experience, there isn’t a football betting player on the planet questioning his results. In leading Los Angeles to a stellar 11-5 season, McVay not only secured an NFC West title, he was also able to snap the Rams’ 11-year postseason drought. Needless to say, McVay is getting the royal treatment in Los Angeles. But what chance do the McVay-led Rams stand of picking up their first postseason win in a decade against the Falcons?
The first thing that comes to mind when sizing this matchup is playoff experience. Statistically, both teams match up pretty well. All in all, the Rams have a slight advantage when it comes to the numbers. That said, that advantage might not be enough to quench the Falcons’ desire to get back to the Super Bowl. Furthermore, things are a little different when the postseason kicks off as the level of competition is taken to another level. Los Angeles doesn’t have much playoff experience. The opposite is true about the Falcons. The 2 team parlay odds are going Los Angeles all the way, which makes taking the experienced team on the upset line all that more appealing.
