2019 NFL Week 2 Lines & Game Preview Chiefs vs. Raiders
Posted by: Charlie Smith
Once upon a time the Raiders and Chiefs had the best and most intense rivalry in all of the sports. From 1967 through 1973 these teams continually battled for AFC West supremacy. Following week one there is the possibility that Kansas City and Oakland could again emerge as a top-shelf pro football betting favorite. KC is a leading favorite to win the AFC this year. By contrast, the Raiders are considered a dysfunctional mess. Oakland’s opening night win over the Broncos has fans and gamblers taking a second look at the Silver and Black. Perhaps they are a quality dog?

Kansas City Chiefs
First week results went as expected for the Chiefs. Kansas City jumped all over Jacksonville in a 40-26 payout as 3.5-point road chalks. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes flashed his MVP credentials with 378 yards passing and three touchdowns. Specifically, the game showed just how loaded the Chiefs are on offense. An overload of talent will make it impossible for defenses to key on any one aspect. Most important of all new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnola had an impressive debut. If Spags can merely make the KC defense average the Chiefs offense can do the rest.
Players to Watch: QB Patrick Mahomes (76% COMP, 378 YDS, 11.5 AVG, 3 TD, 0 INT, 143.2 RTG), RB LeSean McCoy (10 RSH, 81 YDS, 8.1 YPC, 0 TD), RB Damien Williams (13 RSH, 26 YDS, 2.0 YPC, 1 TD, 6 REC, 39 YDS, 6.5 YPC, 0 TD), WR Sammy Watkins (9 REC, 198 YDS, 22.0 YPC, 3 TD), TE Travis Kelce (3 REC, 88 YDS, 29.3 YPC, 0 TD)
At the onset of week one was the Raiders on and off dealings with headcase troublemaker Antonio Brown. Oakland finally decided to trade Brown to the Patriots who discovered that Brown is under a federal investigation for sexual assault. Overall the Raiders rallied to the cause with a 24-16 home payout over the Broncos on Monday Night Football. Quarterback Derek Carr passed for 259 yards and a touchdown as he avoided mistakes. Fashion how Jon Gruden was able to get his team to focus on the field despite the turmoil. Now is a shot at the best in the AFC.
Players to Watch: QB Derek Carr (85% COMP, 259 YDS, 10.0 AVG, 1 TD, 0 INT, 121 RTG), RB Josh Jacobs (23 RSH, 85 YDS, 3.7 YPC, 2 TD, 1 REC, 28 YDS, 0 TD), WR Tyrell Williams (6 REC, 105 YDS, 17.5 YPC, 1 TD), TE Darren Waller (7 REC, 70 YDS, 10.0 YPC, 0 TD)

On this occasion, older fans recall the vicious rivalry of the past. Newer fans and gamblers are intrigued by the prospects of the Raiders becoming good again. Of great concern is KC’s expensive mobile betting price of laying 7.5-points at the Black Hole.
Score Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs 24, Oakland Raiders 20
